4. Retina screen - right to the edges
5. 8GB RAM option
6. 256 SSD minimum
7. SD Card Slot
8. Thunderbolt
9. GPU to drive 3x 30" screens
10. Removable SSD
Is that to much to ask?

The MBA screen with semi-matte display is one if the main reasons the MBA is such a great machine.
Please please don't put that POS glass over the display. At the very least give us a BTO option for a matte/AG display
I think you may be getting confused. The screen will more than likely be the same as the one they currently have. The fact is that no one really knows anything, the best we can do is make educated guesses. Don't worry about it, it's just a computer. If you don't like it, you don't have to buy it.
Call me impatient, but I've been waiting since the MBA V1.0 to buy it. I have held off as I didn't think it was worth biting till this month hopefully. I think its time for the MBA to replace my MBP in my purchase decisions.

A retina screen? WTF?
The new MBAs will get the new CPU/GPU architecture, Thunderbolt/MDP, slightly improved battery life, and maybe 4GB RAM stock if you're lucky. The only possible 'advance' I can see is maybe 3G connectivity, but that's at a push.
Other than that, Apple will tell you to keep whistlin'...

Its not completely out of the realms of possibility. If anyone is going to do it, its .
I'm not saying it's not technically possible but with the current MBA already (finally after all the rev.B/C issues) having very decent hi-res display, it's simply not necessary not to mention nowhere remotely cost-effective on the MBA. Leave 'retina' and OLED to the iOS devices.
Oh and 'edge to edge' screen is just a stupid suggestion for a laptop structurally speaking, no offence. I'd settle for a slimmed down bezel myself.
why should the iOS devices get all the glory. the MBA is the flagship top-line notebook. if anything it should be sporting the best screen available. BTO option for those that want to pay the premium
anything is possible. i go for a 1. if i get a 2 i'm happy. ie. slime down is a good start
Eh? It's an expensive entry-level laptop. One which I would quite happily buy, but nevertheless it most certainly isn't their premium, flagship, all-the-bells-and-whistles model.
Agreed. The MBA is an ultraportable, and top-line notebook it is not. The processors on the MBA are outclassed by the MacBook (currently).

You realise that the current MBA has a glossy screen, right?
The MBP (standard) has a piece of glass/plastic over the glossy screen, making it uber-glossy (the technical term).
The (really) old Apple laptops, and the 'AG' BTO MBP15/MBP17 have matte screens, which Apple stupidly and confusingly call 'Anti-glare', rather than the industry standard 'matte'.
