I think the only real replay value is to create new creatures and try to get through it faster. Because there is not very much customization you can do here to make your creatures much different to accomplish the same goal.

As for the achievements I have so far:

Unlocked extra colors
Unlocked extra patterns
Unlocked Survival mode
Unlocked extra Evolution point

There is still one more on my screen to get. Maybe I have to beat 25 levels of the Survival mode or something?

When Phil did a demo of it the game looked pretty bad. He got stung like 8 times in 30 seconds and his controls looked shaky.

Tip:

Search well in the tunnels at the end of the dark muddy waters, there is something to find :)

This game is so boring... :(

I finished it in less than 2 hours.

As they say, pictures or it didn't happen... on the main screen you can choose your Creature and it will show what level you're on, how many hours spent playing, evolution points, etc. Let's see your great achievement.

And really, I don't think this game (or even the full PC/Mac Spore) is targeted to the hardcore gamer, it's more for the average gamer looking for something fun, easy yet a little challenging later on. Though for the guy who said he's stuck on level 2, I guess he's a complete non-gamer whose never even touched a computer until this week! j/k

Thanks... it would have been faster, but it took me about 20 minutes to figure out that last level.

Canada EH!!!
Fun but little replay value.

It's a fun game but I doubt I will ever play it again now that I have finished it.
Was it worth $10?? .... probably not but I'm not upset that I spent $10 on it. It does have some value.

Cheers.

I didn't manage to get the fifth achievement unlocked.

Erm, and also how come I only have 9 part points and not 10?

I'm kind of disappointed also that one cannot keep playing a creature once you've finished the game. But it was fun all in all. As far as the original topic is concerned, really, if necessary, both levels 29 and 30 have "cheat" solutions -- you can just use the green corral and/or the blue/green fish when they're blue to get energized, and in level 30, you can just eat the squids to fill your evolution bar.

Finally defeated level 29!!!!

I looked everywhere to find a solution. This is how I beat the level. If you have lots of defensive spikes on your creature get rid of them. With my spikes if I ran into the goldfish they would run away or die. Without the spikes they will turn toward you. Once they charge the big fish run up and "attack" them from behind and they will keep attacking the big fish until it explodes. The green coral and the blue frogs will help keep you healed.

Where exactly is this achievement located? I searched in the end of dark muddy waters (level 15 I think) and found the extra evolution point. Where is this extra starting life that you speak of? :D

Also, sorry for bringing back an old thread. I just don't want this super easy game to get the best of me.

Still thrashing at #30, but just got through #29

The bad news is that you apparently have to kill two of the big turtle-fish to get enough food to graduate to the next level. The quickest and easiest way I found is to follow the group of fish used in the "demo" at the beginning of the level and try to off one of the oafs quickly. It really helps if you have two cyclops fish hovering around a turtle fish and can annoy both into attacking the big guy. After you have one of them taken care of, carefully navigate around the pool, getting as much strength as you can from the green bushes and the poison fish when its a friendly blue. Then hang out until you get another two-on-one setup. After I got familiar with the layout, I found that a quick suicide saved a lot of time if things went bad and you need a fresh start. Also note that saving and quitting the level will only bring you back to the very beginning of the level, negating any gains you may have made.

I spent more time on level 29 than I did on all the other levels combined. I am still working on level 30 (using the hints here and elsewhere), but it seems like it's just going to be a matter of time to bounce between the shield pills and the giant jellyfish.
