Interesting, though i'm not sure why the game is so appealing to alot of you guys. Seems pretty boring to me, but would be interested in any reviews that people post. i've been known to be wrong before :)

Seems like big shops like EA must receive some "preferential" treatment by apple so that they can control release dates of their apps, whereas everyone else, it's pretty much when apple wants to release them.

If only you could upload your finished creature in the the full version... Maybe an update could add this.

Still, $10 for 1/5 of a game isn't that bad.

And....once again I find out about a new game NOT from constantly checking iTunes App Store (because right now it's buried there, having a release date of Sept. 5), but from coming here and seeing a post about it. Thank goodness I check macrumors as regularly as the app store -- but what about the people who don't??

They really need to change the whole "early release date" system they have, as it just doesn't work. I'm sure a big release like SPORE is going to eventually get an ad on the main App Store homepage, so people will find it that way -- but what about all the other smaller app releases that can't afford a front-page ad, and get buried on the first day they're released?? Doesn't seem right...

Chill out. It takes awhile for the apps to be added to the lists in the App Store on the iPhone and iTunes. Give it some time, it's not the end of the world. If you really need it now get it from the link above, and stop complaining.

I don't think he was complaining. "stop complaining" sounds rather harsh.

iCopter/Papi > Spore

lol......i'm seriously gonna laugh if it turns out iCopter and Papi are more enjoyable games than some overpriced items like Spore.

I have a high-quality gameplay video up of the game in action on my site if you are interested. I figure it'll hold those of you over that can't get it quite yet.

Look forward to a review.

I am in want of a game to occupy some of my time, and was considering Spore for the Mac, but I just meet the requirements (X3100 integrated on macbook) and am not sure how well it will run (choppy? get the fans running loud?), so I'm curious to hear how this compares. I have an iPod touch I could run it on....

I don't suppose anybody does know...but does anyone know when it's guna come out in the uk? Thanks

I was under the impression that none of the EA Games are out in the UK store...and they still aren't...

So it might not be for a long while if that's the case...

Thanks

Try going to the App store homepage, click on Games then click on Action, and scroll down a bit and it should be listed somewhere in there.

Same here for iTunes Store Canada. It's not listed, can't find it via search, but going specifically to games, then action, it's the second-last in the first page.

I've bought it and downloading it right now. Can't buy the Mac version since it's using Cider (won't run on my Mac mini because of the GMA950 nor on my PowerBook since it's for intel Macs only) and because of SecuROM (I refuse to pay 60$ to basically rent a game).

Edit: uh-oh, can't sync to my iPod because an error occured. Trying to sync again... 80MB over USB2 is terribly slow... ok now it worked for some reason.

I AM VERY PISSED WITH EA! Why no Scrabble in the UK? Why no Tetris in the UK? Why no Spore in the UK? What about the other 9 titles that they announced? Are they going to be available in the UK?

What I don't understand is... why are iPod nano/Classic EA Games released and not iPod touch/iPhone games? AAAAAARGH!

Look forward to a review.

Me too... but the video and info on the OP's website helps a lot. It looks really good, and I'm really tempted to have Spore on my iPhone which is always with me, instead of my DS, which is not usually with me, but the DS version kind of looks more fun... hmmm, maybe I'll get the iPhone one now and try to pick up a used copy of the DS one later.

Isn't there a different Scrabble company for the UK? There might be similar situations for EA too...where a rivaling company might allow the iPod games to slip by, but nothing as sophisticated as the iPhone games.

I will consider getting this game if Apple actually releases a fix to prevent my iPhone apps from crashing all the time. I am hopeful that firmware 2.1 will fix these problems.
