Not a huge gamer here, but my wife and I have been waiting for Spore since we first heard of it. A few questions about the link above to those who know more about these things:
1) Has there been any other confirmation of the new, benevolent DRM regime? I really don't like software calling home.

2) Does "3 computers at a time" mean my wife and I can share one copy?

3) Does anyone know how to contact EA to feedback my feelings on this? I think they should know that they almost lost a sale with this DRM thing, and they've still delayed a sale until I can confirm they're not being completely draconian about this.

1 - Yup, it phones home on install, when patching, and whenever you go online with it.

2 - Yup. No cd needed, either.

3 - Can't help with this one....

which version ?

So there is going to be a Mac & PC version ?

If I own a mac book pro which would be the better version to own?

Will the Mac version have the same sort of graphics as the PC version ?

Thanks

Humans are infinitely more creative than computers. At least... for now.

Could you give an example of what a human can generate in Spore, that could be more "creative" than a randomly generated part of the game? Humans are limited to what can be created with the Spore toolset, and the client itself could just as easily/feasibly create new content randomly with the same tools available.

This is very true. I mean I wish Spore had a world "server" you can import your creature to and have it live there and you can have it interact with other people's creatures . . . with VoIP. . . that way I can have my creature eat my friend's creature and laugh at her :D. . . but in all reality it'll all just be the same if it was user created or computer created. The only thing that would be better if it was user created is if it was online based control so there would be spore creature gangs and wars. OMG! it'd be a God-type MMORPG

The Mac version is a PC version, just using Cider. EA/Maxis couldn't be bothered to do a real port. As much as I hate to say it, Windows/BootCamp would be the way ( previous Cider ports haven't been the best ).

Better still, buy it on a console. The DRM might not be as draconian as it was, but it's still there. IMHO, of course
