how many times have people installed apps and not used them?

there will be some novelty choices.
they may stay using them or revert to what they are used to.

pretty sure Apple will cope quite well without a few using theirs.

and the issues when pages dont display properly or there's some not tested feature that doesnt work at all you rely on.
even Safari has issues with government and banking webpages at times. they just tell you to try another browser on the PC or Mac...

And Apple Music has it for how many years now?!?!?!?!

Not to mention the music video are also encoded in Dolby Atmos on some of it.

Sigh…… no wonder why Spotify had to call Uncle EU to try to shut down Apple. They can’t compete with what Apple has. (Plus Apple pays the artists)
The implementation of videos on Apple Music leaves much to be desired. They are not synchronized and are placed separately from the songs, making it difficult and unpleasant to watch. The implementation of YouTube Music and now Spotify is much better.

I know this is for my use case, but for me Spotify is usually running when it's in my back pocket, screen off, with sound coming through headphones when I'm going for a walk, or for background music for dinner, where the screen is off, or in the car through Android Auto, so presumably video would be disabled.

I don't really see a use case for video - but again, that's for me.

I’ve enjoyed Apple Music’s music videos for years, but curating playlists for audio-only meant playlists didn’t have the music video versions. A simple “Switch to Video” button is an innovation that should’ve come years ago! Would’ve livened a few parties

It's incredible that Spotify never had music videos until now. It's also incredible that Apple Music still doesn't have a simple toggle to switch to and from a video while a song is playing, like on YouTube Music.
Eh. I like how every music video for that album is listed listed at the bottom of the track list on Apple Music.

The issue with the toggle is that the audio version used for the video is not necessarily the same as the one that appears on the album. So if you want the album version you would need to separately select it just like separately selecting the music video on Apple Music.

Better late than never? But Apple Music and YTM have had music videos for years now. Not exactly the feature I’d really want from Spotify.

Spotify... We want better music quality. And all you're giving to us is rather unnecessary features.
Why not switching to Tidal or Apple Music if music quality is the priority? I miss this feature as well, but also am sure that only small percentage (< 1%) of customers gives a s...t about stream being 320kb/s or loseless (and < 0.1% will recognize the difference). That's the reality. Video streaming is something visible to everybody.

Seems like this opinion is sort of US-centric? It looks so different here in EU (at least in my country). Spotify is so much better with customer profiling, local context (concerts, etc.), customer base. Apple Music is hardly supported at all in this area and has small customer base. I don't know even one person using other service than Spotify (and know one person that uses Tidal - me, just because I have it free for one year included in 30GB/unlimited calls/SMS prepaid plan for ~8$/month from one of mobile providers).

The one thing I like about Apple Music is they have music videos... Yes, YouTube already has music videos but finding the official ones is very difficult until recently... Now, if Spotify can also limit it to the official videos then that will be very nice...

Japanese music videos please...

It's not a priority. Just as you yourself wrote "I miss this feature as well". I miss the feature but not that much to make me switch.

Actually I'm now using all three Spotify, Youtube Music and Apple Music. And I still prefer Spotify thanks to its recommendation and UX.

I just wrote hi-fi music quality is the most wanted feature and that's a fact. Would I use it? Would I notice the difference in my casual listening? That's another question.

Agreed, it is most wanted feature. But it's still niche. There are ~26 000 votes. Let's assume that 10% of users looking to having loseless streaming voted. That's 260 000. Thats still 1% of paying subscribers (~260 milion lately). Not much.

BTW, as far as I remember interview with CEO of Spotify, they have some licensing problems (agreements with one of "big three" recording companies concerning loseless streaming?). Strange, if true (other streaming services have had such approveals for many years).

I’ve had this for at least a few weeks now. Personally don’t see the point as Spotify always runs behind apps for me. Would need a shift change in the way I use the platform to gain much value.

I’m more concerned the videos will have a detriment on the quality of Audio delivery if they’re prioritised. Off.

Did catch the latest Justice video however, which was nice.

I recently switched from Spotify to Apple Music and I don’t regret a thin. Can’t believe what I missed, high-res quality and dolby atmos on some songs are out of this world. Never experienced music like that.

I find Apple Music sound better than Spotify.

One of my favourite things about iTunes and now Apple Music is music videos without commercials and, since transitioning to high definition, better quality than YouTube. Pick any hi-def music video on YouTube, then go look at it on Apple Music. For the MTV generation, having a fully customizable, commercial-free music video "channel" with Apple TV is absolutely killer. I think it's great that Spotify is adding the feature, but I'd be shocked if they implement it any better than Apple already has.
