Love it…

"And while you will enjoy optimal performance levels from your OWC SSD with or without TRIM active, we do applaud Apple’s decision to allow for TRIM with non-Apple SSDs. It’s an exciting development many in the SSD, Apple, and OWC community have been interested in seeing come to light." - OWC

Trimforce hits and suddenly Trim is an "exciting development."

^^^^Yep, but when they didn't have the cajones or expertise to enable Trim themselves they wrote:

Through the DuraWrite technology, over-provisioning, and the garbage collection in the SandForce processer of our OWC Mercury SSDs, the need for TRIM is negated. If the firmware on your OWC Mercury SSD is up to date you can enable TRIM, but we’ve found no benefit in doing so since everything you need for top performance is built right in. Right from the start, the speed of your OWC SSD is stunning. It truly makes an existing Mac feel like it’s brand new again. And rest assured, you will enjoy that same speed for the life of that Mac and even beyond!

Pure Rubbish!!!!!!!

It's supposed to work in OS X's software Raid, but not any hardware Raid AFAIK.

This is correct. The problem is when a hardware raid controller gets in the way and the OS is unable to pass the appropriate trim commands through to the drive. Clearly in a software raid scenario, that problem does not exist.

It is rubbish, and the dishonesty alone is enough to convince me to buy products elsewhere.

I couldn't agree more. Their statement belies either complete dishonesty, or total incompetence. Take your pick.

Personally, I think it's the former though, and that raises big question marks for me about the ethics of their entire organisation and what sort of customer experience I might get.

It's a crass blunder on their part either way.
