Just update - get some package backup app from cydia so it's easy and save yourself the worry. Even pod2g advised people to just update - I'm sure there was a reason for that. Highly likely he knew someone would release a patch, but he still told people to update.

Guys, users on reddit are reporting better battery life with 7.0.6

While it might be a placebo (or trickle) effect it might be worth checking out for any of you who are having battery life issues.

My guess is the battery life can be explained by people who aren't downloading all the tweaks they used to have. Or maybe people are using their phones less after the update. Unless someone made an experiment in which all the variables before and after are the same, this is kind of a hard thing to just take at face value.

But still worth updating imo over the ssl patch.

This won't protect you from a man in the middle attack using a falsified SSL signature...

Let's discuss this. Who could be the "man in the middle" in these cases ("own secure wifis and LTE when out")?

A) Your own provider (why would they do that?)
B) NSA/GCHQ/your own government

Anyone else?
