The movie is still in post production so this is most likely all they can show.I know it's a teaser and it's early but I was hoping for a bit more. I was super excited after seeing trailers for The Force Awakens and Rogue One. This one was a little underwhelming IMO.
Reports are that Fisher will be in 9 as well.Last movie with Fisher, right? I dislike teasers. They're either great and you're left wanting to see the rest or terrible and put you off from watching the movie when it comes out.
Realistically teasers are usually of a shorter nature--around a minute or so. This one seems to be closer to a trailer in terms of its length, although in terms of content its certainly more consistent with a teaser.I know it's a teaser and it's early but I was hoping for a bit more. In regards to Luke's question, yes, the Jedi should disappear.

Yup, that news broke right after I posted it. Seems she won't be in IX. Was hopeful though.I had read rumours that indicated this would be a full trailer instead of a teaser, so was a bit underwhelmed when it arrived. I'll obviously still be first in line tho. Uncanny parallel to my love of Apple really.

I believe the Jedi must end bit is in fact Benicio del Toro's character speaking, not Luke.

This has now been contradicted unfortunately. From IMDB:
A few days ago Carrie Fisher’s brother, Todd Fisher, said he and his niece Billie Lourd had given their permission to Disney and Lucasfilm to use pre-existing footage of the late actress for use in Star Wars: Episode IX. However, Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy has now revealed that Fisher will not appear in Episode IX after all.
Speaking with Good Morning America, Kennedy stated that: “He [Todd] was probably confused. We finished everything in The Last Jedi and Carrie is absolutely phenomenal in the movie. We’re so happy we were able to complete shooting in the summer. Unfortunately Carrie passed away so by the time we were well underway with Episode IX in our thoughts, we had not written a script yet, but we’ve regrouped and started over in January. So, sadly, Carrie will not be in IX. We’ll see a lot of her in VIII which is great.

I guess they had to rewrite the script once she died.Deffo ... hope she is written out in an appropriate way
They would have to go bigger. Perhaps Death Solar System. If they fight another Death Star/Planet, I might Scream!
Care to elaborate? This just pushed me completely away... I just do not care anymore.
I like what I saw, but I was underwhelmed a bit. I know its a teaser but it seemed they used the same format as the Force Awakens and just pasted in Episode's 8 scenes.
Since The Force Awakens my nearly life long love of Star Wars has been on life support. For me, the new films, comics and other media do not have the same heart, characterization or fun to me the pre-Disney content did (as awful as some of that could be.) I just do not care what happens to existing -and especially- the new characters. I wanted to love Finn as I like John Boyega but he was completed wasted. There are so many new places they could go (as pre-Disney media did) and well they did not.Care to elaborate?
You don't feel an attachment to Rey?Since The Force Awakens my nearly life long love of Star Wars has been on life support. It is okay. Not my Star Wars. It does not have to be.
Probably a strong reason why I am so utterly psyched for Thor Ragnarok: that feels like a silly, rousing and OTT 80s Marvel Thor comic with a tiny bit of the mythology mixed in (and a pinch of Planet Hulk to boot.)
You don't feel an attachment to Rey?
No Rey. She was the biggest turn off (please do not ask me to elaborate.) As a woman, I look for characters of any gender, etc. just to be great characters to follow. Leia was a perfect example of how to create a character who fit perfectly in that universe; she just was. So were Han and Luke. None of these new characters just are a part of that universe to me.
Well okay, so I kind of liked the Captain and the droid in Rogue One while watching the movie, but I'll be darned if I remember anything about that now except for Vader's moment. Modern Star Wars is the equivalent of most current blockbusters for me: in one ear and out the other.
I am glad people enjoy them, I've found other pastures to lose my fan woman mind in.
I believe the Jedi must end bit is in fact Benicio del Toro's character speaking, not Luke.

Instead of the golden opportunity to break new ground in Episode 7, they chose to milk what came before. It's sad. I found nothing memorable to remember in it. Then they killed off everyone in RO. It's past time to move beyond the same old Sith, Jedi competition. Maybe, it's just not possible to do that and call it Star Wars? Then just let it go Disney... fat chance.
