SO i ordered my Mac Pro what seems like forever ago. I was given a ship date of September 19th. That meant that i would have had an ~7 week wait to receive my computer. I understood that because of my X1900 upgrade it would take some time and accepted that. However, now it seems that people who ordered after me with the X1900 are having theirs shipped before me? There is no way that someone who had an estimated ship date of September 24th should have the exact same computer shipped to them before me.

You're not alone, believe. I ordered on the 19th of August, expected ship date of the 19th of September, hasn't budged since. Don't know what's going on, but I've seen people who ordered on the same day as me, after me and before me all get their X1900 MacPros shipped first. I don't know what formula Apple's using, but it sure isn't by date ordered. I'm hoping mine will ship today or tomorrow (I'd prefer it not ship Friday since it'll have to stay the weekend in a FedEx warehouse).

I'm in Torrance, CA (just southwest of Los Angeles), so it doesn't seem to be entirely Canada. Add insult to injury, the US ones are shipping out of Fullerton, CA which is just south of me. Maybe they're going by alphabetical order or something, first letter of the last name?

Well that blows that theory out of the water, mine is N. It's not by date ordered. I thought it might have been systems with all the wireless options first, but there are some that have no wireless that have shipped. So that's not it. I don't know what criteria their using but it is starting to get rather annoying.

kered22- you shoudl call them and tell them u will pick it up:p
Nah you don't want me to do that. Then I'll suddenly go from having just 1 MacPro to who knows how many and the rest of you will have none. :D

When I ordered my Powerbook and noticed it wasn't moving on the FedEx tracker, I called Apple. They explained that they had "lost" my shipment and were assigning a special team to resolve the issue. Well, people make mistakes, but after the third call, I wasn't happy. Eventually I got it rush shipped and $50 back which seemed fair since my PowerBook arrived a week late. My advice would be to call if you are suspicious.

I don't think it's a matter of being lost in shipping. It's a matter of Apple having some criteria for which systems get built and shipped first. In all of our cases, we've ordered, the order shows on our accounts, but Apple hasn't built them yet. Despite the fact that some of us ordered minutes after the keynote, systems ordered days AFTER the keynote have already shipped and gotten into the hands of users (I saw one who ordered on the 29th of August and has his X1900 MacPro now, that makes no sense).

In my case, it's not extremely time sensitive to have it by a certain date, but I'm sure some are going to be running their business off these MacPros so getting it ASAP is important.

I ordered mine August 7th with the ATI 1900xt + wireless/bluetooth. I still do not have it and people who ordered the same specs 2 weeks ago already have theres..

I did call them today and they said it was shipping today! But no shipping notice yet so even with 2 day shipping I won't have it by the weekend which is a real piss off.. I want a weekend with it!!

Yeah, same thing here. I just called to ask an innocent question and she said "I'm going to upgrade your shipping for free."

Cool.

hmm one the models that others received before you, were you receiving a discount? Education? or perhaps ADC?

Had to ask. they may be putting the higher priced models out first.

This is idiotic, somebody who ordered same day I ordered, same computer I ordered, and same shipping got theirs shipped on SATURDAY. Me? Doubt it'll be shipped today.

I did the same (ordered on the 7th, got the same CTO upgrades), and mine is supposed to be on a truck to me right now. Unfortunately, FedEx has awful tracking for overnight, which can easily glitch and give no info.

It was annoying to see people who ordered the latter-half of August get theirs before me, although I did use a company discount.

just called them. they said its still slated to ship on the 19th. there is no hol dor delay on it. They said that its weird that people who ordered the same specs after me have already had theirs shipped, however there is nothing they can do for me. i wanted to punch myself in the balls 8 times while trying to explain to her why i was upset with the fact that people are recieving theirs before mine, when i ordered before them. She couldnt understand why i was upset.

I called this morning and got upgraded to overnight shipping. I ordered at 11:55am PDT on August 7th, Quad 3.0, 1 GB RAM, No BT or AirPort, X1900XT, with iWork pre-loaded, education price. As of now, my order is still cancellable and my credit card has not been charged. Last name starts with S. Order status says it will ship by 9/12 and be delivered by 9/19. They told me that the shipping status online would not be updated showing overnight shipping, but that it would come overnight when it does ship.

The Apple Store person told me that my Pro is coming from California (at least they know that) and that different warehouses are shipping different configurations at different times (is there more than one warehouse in CA??), and that it would not make any difference if I added BT/Airport or dropped iWork. I guess "it is what it is" and I agree it's getting frustrating!

They're shipping out of Fullerton (I assume they're doing the actual custom assembly there) for the US only I believe. They were shipping the first batch of MacPros (when they were announced) out of Rancho Cordova which is near Sacramento. Other than that though, I don't believe I've heard of them shipping from any other locations except for Cork, Ireland for the UK customers. I haven't heard of any shipping direct from China (for US customers at least) which is kind of surprising. Given the weight though, I can understand why they chose not to.

Wow, I just got free upgraded shipping within five minutes of calling (my rep was a toughie, but I wore him down :D)

I highly recommend that ANYONE just call them up and tell them blah blah, isn't fair, you guys suck, and you'll most likely get free shipping.
