Should be soon

I ordered my Mac Pro on 8/21 (2.66, 2 GB RAM, 500 GB HDD, 1900XT, wireless, bluetooth) and received a 9/18 estimated ship date. I called this morning and upgraded to overnight shipping (had to pay $61 for it though). Just noticed that the order for the first time is not cancellable. The estimated delivery date shows the same 9/18, but I assume non-cancellable means it should go out tomorrow and arrive Friday (at least I'm hoping). I'm in Northern California.

Woot?

Just checked to see if my order was still cancellable (an indicator that shipping is imminent, according to other posts?) -- it is now NOT cancellable, when as late as this afternoon it was. Credit card not yet charged. Don't know if my call to the Apple Store today and change to overnight shipping helped, but things appear to be moving along.

For anyone who thinks that their early (August 7/8) order of a MacPro Quad 3 with X1900XT without BT/AP was being ignored while later orders of different configurations were shipping, hopefully the tide is turning.

Will let you know if a WOOT! is in order. Keep your hopes up!

I have a WOOT on standby too. :D Just went to check my order status and I can't cancel anymore either. No CC charge yet or shipping notification email, but I think I'm this much closer now. :)

Ordered August 19th BTW, original estimated ship date of September 19th. Here's hoping. :)

>.< I ordered mine with the same configuration (sans 500GB hard drive) three days before you and AFAIK it's still scheduled to ship on the 18th of this month. At this point it better ship sooner than that though. I'm in the same area too.

It could be worse... I paid for overnight shipping, and it looks like FedEx might have seriously botched shipping (as in, they forgot to load the box on the plane)... and I am working from home... I don't even know if I can get my work to let me work from home tomorrow as well, considering we have a product shipping Friday.

SO i ordered my Mac Pro what seems like forever ago. I was given a ship date of September 19th. That meant that i would have had an ~7 week wait to receive my computer. I understood that because of my X1900 upgrade it would take some time and accepted that. However, now it seems that people who ordered after me with the X1900 are having theirs shipped before me? There is no way that someone who had an estimated ship date of September 24th should have the exact same computer shipped to them before me.

It's really not that bad, try ordering a dual 2ghz G5 the day they were announced, june 14, 2003 (or something like that) only to have it arrive on October 6, 2003.:p

just called them. they said its still slated to ship on the 19th. there is no hol dor delay on it. They said that its weird that people who ordered the same specs after me have already had theirs shipped, however there is nothing they can do for me. i wanted to punch myself in the balls 8 times while trying to explain to her why i was upset with the fact that people are recieving theirs before mine, when i ordered before them. She couldnt understand why i was upset.

Well obviously she is not going to be real compasionate about punching yourself in the balls. It may be that she understood why you were upset but that there was just not a whole lot she could do about it. I however can 'feel' your pain.

I'm not sure I agree with this whole "I can't cancel my order, so it must be shipping theory". I can't cancel my CTO either but my unit is not scheduled to ship until the 29th

That makes no sense at all but still does a good job of expressing how frustrated you were. Yikes!

Hey that's an unfair comparison! :D You knew it was going to take that long. LOL With these X1900s, we just had 3-5 weeks and that was it. :( LOL

I didn't know it was going to take that long, they said they would ship in august. There were numerous delays for the dual 2ghz G5s, while the single 1.6 and 1.8 shipped closer to august.

Ah okay, thought that was one of the models where Apple said the low and mid range models would be shipping at one date, then the high end x number of months down the road.

Has anyone in Australia had their Mac Pro shipped yet? I'm still waiting, orderd on the 16th of August and haven't heard anything.

Not even an email notifying me of a price drop on the ATI Radeon Card. I called Apple Australia and they said they hadn't heard anything about a price drop. I'm very annoyed.

I think in all liklihood, our MacPros will be assembled and shipped tomorrow or Friday. Early on when the X1900s still weren't ready, some orders became uncancelable, but it didn't mean anything. Now that the systems are actually shipping though, I think it's more plausible they'll be shipping tomorrow or Friday.

Either that or Apples been monitoring the forums and has gotten sick of us disgruntled future X1900 owners. They fear we'll revolt and camp out in front of Apple HQ with bonfires, pitchforks and torches. LOL So they've just done this to try and qualm any rebellions.

I understand your frustration, but I think you're a bit overreacting here? Then again, it's hard to get a sense by text alone. Something about the all caps and swearing seems extreme for the situation though. Not being able to cancel is a good sign that shipping is imminent. Hang in there.

Well, sorry, but I have no sympathy for you.

That's the date they gave, and that's the date they kept. It's not like everybody's getting their toys at the exact same time, you're still within the date provided.

Doesn't matter what time anybody else is getting theirs.

i think it has a lot to do with being from Canada. I ordered my mac pro on aug. 8th basically stock. It had an estimated ship time of 3-5 days... I finally got the thing YESTERDAY. almost a full month of waiting.

Got the shipping notice finally last night(ordered Aug 7th).. Should have it for Friday unless fed ex messes up, which they shouldn't because I live down the street from the Toronto fedex airport terminal :)

also the whole can't cancel online doesn't mean much. I wasn't able to cancel the order online since mid august, but if you really want to cancel it give apple a call to see if they'll do it.

Also once the system is "on the dock" they can give you that update as well because at that time they can't even cancel it.

Here is the specs of my Mac Pro

2.66 GHz Quad Xeon
1GB 667 DDR2 FB DIMM ECC-2x512
ATI Radeon X1900 XT 512MB
250GB Serial ATA 3Gb/s drive
16x SuperDrive DL
Airprt Extrm & BT 2.0+EDR
Apple Keyboard & Mighty Mse
Mac OS X
Country Kit

While I'm sure it will be of no comfort to you whatsoever, I had to wait almost 3 months to get my hands on a working 1.6GHz PowerMac G5...and I ordered within a day or two of the WWDC 2003 Stevenote(tm) when they were announced. They were available in normal retail shops for weeks before my order arrived...and then it was DOA and had to be replaced!

Sit back, have some beers, bitch about it on macrumors.com, and reflect on how lucky you are to be able to afford on of those MacPro beasties in the first place ;)

I suggest you print out this thread and re-read it in a few year's time when you've forgotten all about how long it took to ship your Mac :D

Congratulations on the new MacPro!

man ill remember it. The lenghth of time it took wasnt what bothered me. It was the fact that people who ordered after me got it before me. I dont think its fair at all that imgoing to have mine tommorow while people who ordered way before me still havent got theirs yet.
