Portal (and Portal 2?)

I drooled over the trailer, but was never willing to BootCamp my Mac just for gaming purposes.
Still dying to try it though.

Haha, yeah. TIE Fighter (and X-Wing and all those games) are from Lucasarts. They were great to play through back when I had my 386.

Cs 1.6....Or Am I really wanting something that will NEVER hapen ? plz plz plzzzzzz!

Since Mac's run on intel CPU's and OpenGL works on both windows and Mac, there is really no reason not to make a Mac port.
It should be effortless.

If only that was the case, even with a GL render path (pretty rare in modern games) things are never that simple :) Does make things a bit easier but it is a long way from effortless.

Portal 1 will surely come oO =), I know because I can play it through the official Steam for Mac beta. So we can expect surely Portal 2 too and I think all new Games by Valve will be ported for OpenGL.

Because no mac will be able to play it.

Just to hear the complaints, "my $3000 iMac can't play Crysis, what can I do??"

I wouldn't say so. Crysis 2 is coming to home consoles, it's using CryEngine 3 which is just a highly optimised version of the CryEngine 2 (Crysis). So it would easily run on any computer that can run Crysis now and even ones that cannot.
And FWIW Macs can run Crysis. You just need one with a nice graphics card.
What they've dubbed as the next-gen Crytek engine is the one most computers will cry at ;).

Besides Valve's games I'm hoping for Plants vs Zombies and BioShock. Both might already be available for Mac (I know BioShock is) but I just want all my games in one place on my Mac.

Both are available for Mac.

Not sure how different products and pricing will work on Steam. For instance, BioShock for PC is about £15, but it's £35 for Mac. We'll have to see how Valve work it out.

Im pretty sure its VALVE games that are being ported to OSX, not games that are available for sale on steam. For example, somebody mentioned they would like to see Fallout3 ported, well that would be up to Bethesda.

Just to chime in i played crysis on my mac back when i used bootcamp

Madballs in Babo Invasion is getting ported to the Mac, I knew I should have bought it when it was on sale for $2.50.

Do we know if its using Steamplay? I bought that when it was on sale, seems like its a pretty fun game. Only spent around half an hour on it though.

I assumed that since the Source engine was being ported to Mac that ALL Valve games would be playable day 1. It's not like people who make mods on PC have to do anything extra to get their game running on PC, since it's built on the same engine. I don't see why people thing each game will have to be ported. Am I wrong?

All Valve games will be available.
But Steam also sells a lot of games that aren't developed my Valve, and aren't running with the source engine. So those will need to be ported by their individual developers.

Sin Episodes Emergence. I used to laugh a lot when you crouched down and stared at Jessica's ass and she would say 'I never figured you for an ass man' Or 'WOW, eye's up here fella'

Such a shame it didn't sell too well and they only ever made the one game.

Theory and practice are the same, at least in theory..
