My buddies and I recently played an Advanced+Realism L4D2 game. Took us 2 hours and it was glorious :). I think Expert is a little too tough, 4 friendly fire hits and you're down!

Picked up Rage and Dirt 3 today. Taking forever to download on my 40mbps connection, their content servers must be hammered.

With Valve's games (and quite a few others too), once you own them on PC you get them on Mac too (and vice versa).

Thank you for understanding me; I find it astounding that, in a website called MACRUMORS, we still pander to gaming that requires a $200 copy of Windows Whatever Version to happen. As proven by BareFeats, performance is virtually the same on both platforms when development efforts go beyond DirectX/Windows-only crap.

I have Steam and can play L4D2, TF2 and Portal flawlessly, without any virtualization or boot camp BS.

So the important question here is: WHICH Mac OS X games are on sale?

Sorry that I wasn't dedicated enough to go through and look which games were Mac compatible; work took priority and I have been rushing. It isn't that difficult to look it up on their website.

Not at all, sir. Infact the only games that have equal or better performance in OSX are Portal 2 and WoW. That's it. I believe those figures can be seen on BareFeats.

Personally I prefer playing games on Bootcamp since running games on max (which this iMac can handle for most of my games) puts less strain on the GPU. Runs cooler, lasts longer. Also; more games. :)

Picked up Rage, Dirt 3, Diamond Dan and the Duke Nukem Forever DLC (which is supposedly really good!). But the performance in Rage is terrible! There are some known performance issues with AMD GPUs.

Jedi Knight has aged so well, I played through it last year and it feels like Half Life 1/Portal 2 with the environments. Brilliant game.

LOL, I was just paying my Comcast bill when I happened to notice the usage meter on their website. Thanks to the Steam sale I am currently over the 250GB limit, sitting at 298GB for the month. They haven't contacted me yet, so hopefully they will let it slide.

I was laid off at the end of October resulting in the big bump for November usage. I bought a lot of large games from Steam during the sale: Borderlands, Mass Effect 1&2, Dead Space 1&2, and so on. I'll need to be sure not to install any more that I purchase until next month.

You can't complain, I only have a 50Gb limit (that's Belgium, Europe) with my cable subscription. If I want more, I'll be paying through the roof (I'll bet I'm already paying two or three times what you pay for your 250Gb)...

Hah! They might do, considering it's the holiday season and people (probably?) use more internet (maybe???). The benefits of BT Infinity - 40mbps with no bandwidth limitations, huzzah! Because I dread to think of the amount I've downloaded this month.

Bought Quake 4 today. Almost bought the Binding of Isaac but no native controller support, just a cheeky command on the options screen telling you to use another app? If I can get controller support in my games then so can Edmund (and mines on Steam next month).
 
Steam also has a "holiday gift" section, where you have to do some tasks for chance to win something. A few things can be done without buying anything, but some require collecting stuff in specific games (including Team Fortress 2).

So far, I got coal and some coupons (including 33% off valve game)

Only if some of these games were Mac compatible... it is so furious to see some of these games that have already been ported by Aspyr or Feral can't come into Steam for Mac at discounted price. For example, SW:KOTOR was cheap $2.49 (£1.74) two days ago, but Mac version on App Store was still £9.99.

In a way though, it prevents me from spending more, so I am glad in that sense. ;)
