Hey guys! I'm not sure if this has been created before, but I was just thinking of creating a thread for current steamers to add friends as the number of friends I have on steam is currently..... zero.

I know there is a MacRumors group and I've already joined it. But I don't want to go around adding everybody there as friends since we might not play the same games. So this is what I propose: We just put our username here and the games (multiplayer) currently in our library + those purchased/ soon to be purchased. I'll start the ball rolling

Altitude
Half-Life 2 Deathmatch (Waiting to be released on Mac)
Counterstrike Source (Waiting to be released on Mac)
Day of Defeat Source (Waiting to be released on Mac)
Team Fortress 2 (Waiting to be released on Mac)
Planning to purchase L4D 2 if it is going to be released as well

Considering Steam introduced cross platform gaming, it would be quite daft to not allow cross platform friends.... unless... cross platform adding of friends is the highlight this week!
 
L4D2 will be released for the Mac. And yes, you can play with PC users. This has been the case from the time of launch. Por ejemplo, I often play Altitude under Windows with a friend of mine who has only OS X on his MacBook.

Just wondering, do you have to add Steam User ID (the id you use to log in to steam) or the Nickname? I've been adding the 'usernames' here and the nicknames somehow appear different.

The username is used to login and add people with.
The nickname can be something more recognisable, or what you prefer to be known as
So I can have my username as roadblochd, and my nickname can be Daniel. To add me, you would type in roadblochd, but in the contact list, you would see Daniel.

Just like how skype works and msn with your email address and then your nickname.
 
As mentioned in the first post, I know of the existence of the group. The purpose of this is to filter out current steamers and to know what games we have in library so we don't go adding all the 200 members in the group. However, if more users find this redundant, please trash it, no hard feelings :)

Good idea. Here's my info.

Games: Altitude, CSS, Half life deathmatch, TF2, DoDS.
 
SteamID: mixelmagic / Mixelsior
Region: UK/Europe
Games: Killing Floor, CSS, TF2, L4D, L4D2 - (presumably all of these will be maccy soon)

As for multiplayer non-Mac stuff.. I have a lot! But I mostly play KF and L4D. :)

I think the thread is a good idea, helps put a face to the usernames.
 
I'll happily add any Europeans. Reason being ping. I've got a few Americans and Australians on my Steam and it's not realistic to play on the same servers. Or we could just chat :p.

But yea any Yurpeens add me if you want- shelderslow.
I mostly play HL2 Deathmatch, TF2, L4D, L4D2 and occasionally CS:S. I've got Altitude and Madballs too.

Is there a typing mistake? Can't seem to add you!

And for new people posting, feel free to add in your region if you prefer to add people in the same region! Whoop whoop! Can't wait for CSS or TF2 to be released so we can rock in it together!

Thats odd.. http://steamcommunity.com/id/mixelmagic is me so.. Searching for Mixelsior might work too. I'm usually some strange mixel variation. :) I'll try adding you!
