Good to see this is still going strong! My internet was down for the past one and a half week, so couldn't see much. Now we have TF2 and CS:S. I'm sure we have more games in common.

To provide more info, you might want to add which servers you normally play in. Normally hang out in GTFO and UKCS servers for TF2. Only 2 GTFO servers for CS:S at the moment.

I installed CS from a CD key off the Half-Life Platinum box set from 2001... and it says CS is not available on my platform.

Is CS:S different than plain old Counter-Strike? I haven't played this since 2003.

To my understanding, there are different types of CS. I'm guessing you're having CS 1.6 or CS Condition Zero. The one just released was CS Source.

Yep. I had 1.6, and wasn't aware of the whole history of Steam forcing everyone into CS:Source. (I just wiki'd that info.)

So, I paid my $6.80, and have another 17 minutes of downloading to go for CS:S.

I need to practice setting up a server. Not sure how good my box / cable upload speed will be for it, but why not, eh?

I'm going to try to set up a CSS server for tonight, but apparently, it's one of those things that everyone talks about but .... no player interest.
