Maybe, but June/July 2007 it dropped back half a percent before rocketing ahead again...Only time will tell if it's another fluctuation - It's all speculation after all but we can certainly hope, yes?

Those figures, much as I love quoting them, are barely noise free enough to look at the gradient, let alone gradient of gradient. You have to look at the computers sold each quarter to get a better idea of that.

huh, we do need some fun, if not truth.

last laptop doing random shutdown stuff to me, is my MB. not even a 5 minutes rule. totally random, how exciting. lol

I was going to say, that means its a Mac :p. Apple really needs to improve their laptop quality.

Actually, Toshiba has or at least had the R500, which weighs in at 1.7 lbs in smallest config.

So that might be it.

That doesn't have a DVD drive, which Ballmer said his laptop had...

As far as this one goes...not the end of the world, but not the MS Mr. Gates put out there, but with Ballmer in control, I'm less then shocked.

The vid makes it seem like its fun with friends...

Ballmer said Apple only focuses on consumer goods? What about OS X? And Apple's hardware?

It does. and it weighs under a kilo. It also comes ready-equipped with a better OS for doing things of consequence on the move - Vista, as well as better connectivity. It - the UK model does at least - come with a 3-year warranty as standard as well while costing not much more than the base-model Air. However, I'm given to understand it's not as rigid as the Air.

I don't know about the better OS but it definitely beats the MBA feature-wise for the same size and less weight.

I would agree with you, but I ended up with a .16GHz processor improvement, and a 20GB HD increase, as well as a move to 64bit when Apple upgraded my problem MB.
