Yeah, I heard about this ticket thing at some BB stores with the wireless version, but it apparently varied from store to store and not all of them did that. AFAIK, the majority just had people line up, and FCFS. Like so much on the internet, you may be only getting part of the story and you'd probably be far better off checking with YOUR Best Buy store.

Thanks!

But let me recap cause i'm still confused, sorry.

I have to arrive at the store before it opens (for example: 10am, that's when my local BB opens) I then get a ticket. However this is were I get confused, you said I have till 12pm to pick up my iPad 3G, i thought iPad's didn't go on sale till 5pm on April 30th to the general public?

Please advice. thanks!:)

There hasn't been an official announcement yet about how the release is going to go do. I am just going off previous big ticket items, including iPad - Wi-Fi.

At my Best Buy in Duluth, GA they started with 5 of each of the WiFi (15) but 2 hours later got another shipment (second 15 sold out right away) so this time I think Apple will take in consideration how well the first iPad sold and adjust.

For what it's worth, I just saw a sneak peek of this upcoming Sunday's (5/2) circular flyer for Best Buy and they are not promoting iPads at all.

Now, I'm just keeping my fingers crossed that they get them in on Friday and not holding out for a big promotion on Sunday 5/9 to start selling them. That would suuuuck.

"Help me Best Buy... You're my only hope."

*1:00 PM UPDATE*

I emailed Simon Pope from Apple (his name was listed at the bottom of the 'iPad WiFi + 3G press release' as a Press Contact,) and I asked about the 3G's availability in Best Buy and he just emailed me back a minute ago and confirmed that they will indeed be available in select Best Buys on April 30! Woo Hoo!

I now feel very confident that I will walk out of Best Buy on Friday with iPad in hand.

I plan on stopping by the Best Buy around the corner from me on Thursday morning to speak with the manager about how they are planning to handle the 3G release. If it seems like he/she is confident and has a plan to deal with it (vouchers in the morning, confirmation they'll have them etc) then I'm going to shop with Best Buy on Friday. If, on the other hand, they seem sketchy, don't have any idea, or start playig that 'not sure if/when we're getting any at all' game I'll just take my 800$ and my business to the Apple Store. If figure even if I have to stand in front of the Apple Store for 7 hours for a sure thing, it's better than risking Best Buy's shifty answers. Ball will be in Best Buy's court Thursday morning. Hope they have a plan!
