About Adobe: They are lazy, Jobs says. They have all this potential to do interesting things but they just refuse to do it. They don’t do anything with the approaches that Apple is taking, like Carbon. Apple does not support Flash because it is so buggy, he says. Whenever a Mac crashes more often than not it’s because of Flash. No one will be using Flash, he says. The world is moving to HTML5.

On one hand I do respect him being open to everyone regarding how he feels, but atleaston the outside he should talk up healthy competition.

Right now Apple is it's own worst enemy. It has great talent, massive funds and good press. But if it keeps talking down hdmi, blu ray, flash, google, nvidia and ignoring what the fans want and instead focusing entirely on profits and marketshare, it'll discredit the brand image it worked so hard to create.

While it was okay at first, people are starting to resent how closed off and restrictive iTunes and iPhone os is.

I, too, am waiting for the day HTML5 takes over. YouTube and Vimeo are jumping onboard.

There is no such thing as an HTML5 video. The current draft spec of HTML5 contains a video tag that lets you embed a video player in the page. I believe the "unofficially official" formats are currently H.264 and OGG.

With Safari on Mac, the <video> tag can be used to playback any video format for which the user has the relevant codec and QuickTime component installed.

I don't think so - they're all professional grade products. I don't know any colleagues that use Dreamweaver these days as unless you're using WYSIWYG it's bloated, and if you're using WYSIWYG you aren't very good!

Most of us will just use a program like Coda or advanced text editor (Notepad++ seems to be the Windows user's choice) for the HTML and CSS - even for PHP (although some will use Eclipse or a similar IDE for this).

I don't think there's a market for a professional grade web authoring tool from Apple... but I guess xcode is capable of it with some work (if it isn't already).

First of all, Steve Jobs is one of the most talented people when it comes to technology. This is the man who has revolutionized 4 separate categories of things, that we all use daily.
The iMac, iPhone, MacBooks, and now, the iPad.

I think he's doing just fine with or without LSD. Which is one of the weirdest drugs I have ever done. But I love how he takes pride in what he does. It makes him happy, and I really don't see anything wrong with it. It's his company, he can run it anyway he wants. You should be more concerned about what he makes, not his personality. Even if he had the nastiest personality in the world, that would still not say anything about the genius in him.

Now onto the Flash story. Flash is ********, and Apple are doing the right thing by boycotting it. It actually is pretty buggy to be honest. Maybe not as buggy as Jobs makes it seem, but HTML5 definitely has less problems.
Adobe need to step up their game if they wanna play on this playground. This is big boy stuff.
