I think too often people think too big and not small.

I agree in that a major stepping stone is get the technology in front of the public, so they take more of a commercial interest in it... which causes the industry to take notice.

Just as with their touch based UI, Apple helps greatly with that all important publicization step by including Siri with their phone.

It's only a matter of time until cars and homes have an AI installed to do tasks by voice.

We all said that thirty years ago. Sometimes I can't believe how little it has advanced since then. Except in the movies, of course :)

There's the right time for every product, though. Today, many young people are more comfortable talking via objects than directly to other people.

That is an incredibly correct point. Many people are more comfortable speaking over the Internet or device rather than in person. This could possibly lead into a very successful career for Siri. Depending on how well it does in the "real world", there could demand to see Siri in more than just a phone.

I predict Siri will be in every iMac and MacBook in the next two years if not sooner.

Steve Jobs didn't "predict" anything.

He had an idea of what he thought technology should be and do. Then he went out, got a bunch of like minded people, took the right ideas, companies and technology and MADE that idea happen.

Exactly. And that's even better. He didn't just sit around daydreaming; he made it happen (with the help of many other incredible people).

That's a sign of a true leader. People often think great leaders know everything, they don't. Great leaders know what they can do, and know what they can't. Then they surround themselves with people who can do what they can't. Jobs was arrogant, but he was smart.

Imagine today without iPods, MacBooks, iPads and the iPhone. We'd probably still be using BlackBerry phones and buying Dell and Gateway computers.

That is pretty awesome. I hope one day Siri, or similar software gets to that stage. Without having a visual avatar, it might be easier to overcome the uncanny valley effect.
