I didn't know where to put this topic, so I will put it here. I have noticed, by watching a lot of the MacWorld videos, that Steve Jobs wears the same clothes everyday. Is this true? Or does he just wear the same things to the MacWorld events as sort of good luck? Does anyone know?

I always took it as kind of a zen thing. Pick something comfortable to work in, something that won't distract you...and focus on the real task ahead of you.

Also...much easier to be creative, innovative if you don't have to waste any energy on thinking about things like what to wear.

I'd bet he has more that one set of clothes though.

Just to say a few places where he weares the same things. I have read he only has these clothes, just cause he likes them. Anyone else heard of this?

I seriously doubt that he only has those clothes. I'll never know why he wears the same clothes to every Apple Event but I really don't care.

No, he doesn't wear the same clothes every day. They're washed quite often. :p

He likes that look for presentations, though.

In the winter, I used to wear the same thing every day (I had three of the same shirt and four pairs of jeans). Now I have 7 of the same style, with the other four being the same shirt, just in different colors.

Heck, for work, I wear the same thing every Monday, Tues, etc.

Smell you later. :p

steve drives me nuts. You figure a rich guy like him would subsribe to GQ (maybe we should buy it for him?), I mean come on, im a poor college kid and i manage to dress with more suave-ness than him. Stevie needs to rock some RL, or Burberry or something. i would kill (not literally...yet) to be able to afford such sweet clothing! he probably drives a hybrid civic too instead of rocking a TVR or a McLaren...

Well the people you work with could always take you out back and give you a flea dip, as they wash you with a hose and 4' long deck brushes.

Steve has stated, many, many times now, that he wears the exact same outfit every day. His closet is literally quite filled with the exact same outfit again and again.

He considers it one less thing to worry about in one's day. Brilliant.

Related question: they often say that Steve always wears a "mock turtleneck". If his shirts are mock turtleneck, what are real turtleneck shirts/sweaters? (Skip the turtle jokes please.)

Thanks - Greg

From polo.com (the best stuff!)

Mock turtleneck:
A knit pullover finished at the neckline with a short, fitted knit band that does not fold over. An abbreviated version of the turtleneck, mock turtlenecks tend to offer a sleeker, dressier alternative for wintertime style. Also referred to as a mockneck.

Real rich ppl dont have to be flashy. Its normally poor people and new money who feel the need to subscribe to a certain dress code to show off their money.

actually, in the second picture he's not wearing a turtle neck.. so its a different shirt, just the same color.

Good point. Steve and Woz should've spent more of their early years being trendy @ssholes and less time being brilliant pioneers.

I've seen Jobs wearing tons of other things... but on the whole he tends to wear pretty much the same thing a lot. This really shouldn't be surprising, even Einstein wore the same thing almost everyday... he didn't want to waste his time trying to decide what to wear.

Jobs has got bigger things on his mind going into a keynote than to worry about what he is wearing... plus that combination may be lucky for him in giving presentations.
