Yes that's right, Steve Jobs is a lying duplicitous, door to door salesman, a profiteer,a corporate suit disguised as a mock turtleneck wearing pseudo hippie with all the tendencies of a true obsessive compulsive paranoid schizophrenic. Phooey to him and anything he says going forward.
After reading a few threads here, I got to thinking about this grand deception that took place at the introduction of this new miraculous device a few short months ago. The iPad, the latest marvelous device from the wonderful folks at Cupertino.
Going through the threads I noticed all the pictures of Steve "The Liar" Jobs, holding up the device with the background power point presentation emphasizing the features, and the plans this bold new device would have. Looked great, wowed them all, sold them all, great show, great product, great partners, thousands of software titles, all looking just a little blurry when blown up in double time.
The Liar did a flawless presentation that day. He managed to generate worldwide attention on a simplistic device that had essentially been around in other forms for what, maybe ten years? Not sure when the first tablets came out, but folks, this concept is anything but "new and revolutionary" as pontificated by The Liar.
This "revolutionary device is very much like another we saw marketed to us a few short years ago, called The Kindle. Another revolution that captivated the publics pocket book which was in fact just another retread, re-packaged to look new and revolutionary.
Some form of Ereading has been around for a very long time. Many have been reading their books on windows mobile devices for years, Peanut Press, Mobireader, etc. all have been doing business for years.
Amazon comes along buys a company, puts some money into it, changes the name, produces a dedicated device and calls it a Kindle, a presto, a revolution, really?, well, not really. The same thing, different package, different marketing, re-packaged to appear to be new and revolutionary. Just like the ipad. As much as I like mine, that's all it is, a retread, and oversized iphone, a no brainer, that the lying CEO of Apple had always stated his company was not interested in, saw no need for it, a waste of time, we'll never waste our time doing what the other netbook makers are doing, no way. Liar!
Well I guess that was before everyone had bought his iPhone hook line and sinker and they needed something else to turn the publics attention to, come up with something guys the paranoid Liar in Chief ranted to his minions! Hey, why don't we blow up the iPhone? Yea that's it, they'll love that, they want that, and if they don't, I'll do such a great sales job on it they'll buy it before they can even touch it. And we did.
What was revolutionary about the Kindle phenomena in my opinion was the pricing. They managed to get their publishing partners to agree to sell these eversions of their titles for a wonderful price, $9.99. How can you not be attracted to buying current best sellers for that price, no tax. The only way one could get that kind of deal would be to go to Costco, or your local public library and wait in line for it to be available. Their partnering publishers willingly went into this program because they were doing miserably, lets face it, they weren't selling any new books. So along comes Amazon with this revolutionary idea and, hey, lets sell some books, sign us up!
After the success of this revolutionary device, The Kindle, the publishers had second thoughts, and got greedy, can ya blame them, and started to demand a bigger part of the Kindle pie, and eventually got it. It probably did not help that Steve "The Liar Jobs was courting all these greedy publishers with the prospect of a new device, that the The Liar told them would be revolutionary and miraculous and will be far greater than the Amazon device, come with me, follow the Cupertino pied piper and we'll show you the way to greater profits. Some did, some did not, all raised their prices, good luck finding a best seller for $ 9.99. Maybe check the Sony Ereader library store, they may still have that pricing, I haven't checked lately.
So The LIAR IN CHIEF , Jobs presents his revolutionary device to the world a few short months ago, millions are sold, many of which were never even seen before orders were placed, there's your revolution folks! Can you imagine if any other company in the world had a press conference, displayed what were essentially proto types of a new device and then began taking a million orders for them right after the press conference.
Truly a revolution in marketing, that's for dam sure. The public believed the words of the prophet Jobs so much so that in the worst economic times since the great depression a million units were virtually pre-sold. Today we are told two million people worldwide have gone out and bought this device.
People placed their faith and their money in the very words The Liar stated during that press conference. He told them it was miraculous revolutionary reasonably priced device would transform the way the conducted their lives.
That it would come with "unlimited" service for $30.00. That's right folks $30.00, and you won't be tighted into that plan, you can change it anytime you want, go up one month go down another. You won't be harnessed to contract, free to cancel anytime you want!
Well, he wasn't lying then, you can cancel anytime you want but in doing so you can now never go back to the service I sold you my new miraculous revolutionary reasonably priced device, the unlimited service.
That was the big deception on the part of Steve "The Liar" Jobs part and one he should own publicly. One might have noticed we have heard not a word, not one regarding this duplicitous customer backstabbing development with the his partner of choice. Those of you that think he was not aware of this coming down the pike are being nothing but foolish and naive. He knew and he did this anyway. Why? Look at the stock lately? Look at the press lately? Hmm?
And all the while we the customers let this slide, we make excuses, we attribute the new ATT policy to the small percentage of band hoggers, let's blame the college kids who watch hulu, or whoever the minor percentage of these people are. Who cares who they are! It's not the point. The point was, we were sold a bill of goods for a product sight unseen and then had it taken away after a million were sold.
But hey, let's not blame the extremely POOR service and infrastructure ATT has. Nah, let's blame those band hoggers, that's the reason this company can not keep up with the demand of service.
ATT has hands down the worst cellular service on the face of the planet, and Apple and the Liar in Chief continues to throw business their way, the new miraculous revolutionary reasonably priced iPad device can only work on their atrocious network. The new iPhone will be another ATT exclusive despite the millions of complaints of lousy coverage and lousy service.
But what the hell do I care the Liar in Chief thought the day before the next really big press conference for a device the world already knows more than he'd like them to know about.
I'll just go in their and lie to them, because they always believe me, and my customers are like lemmings, they'll believe anything I say and follow me any where I take them!
Shame on him and shame on us for believing his crap!
