Is anyone else having a problem with Stickers? On both ios 17 and IPadOS 17 the stickers just crashes everytime I click on it. I've tried rebooting, switching keyboards, and nothing. And I can't even make new stickers with photos. DId this last update break something?

This seemed to happen after switching to the new iPhone 15 pro max. I had the 14 pro max. It did work few times then it just stopped. And now just crashes immediately like it doesn't exist when I click on stickers from iMessage.

You’re not alone. Happened to me also. It broke right when I got the iPhone 15 Pro Max. And I watched it stop working on my iPhone 14 Pro Max and now I just saw it working on my iPad Pro… and then it just broke. And I figured I should update the iPad Pro to iOS 17.0.1…. But that didn’t fix it. And my iPhone 15 Pro Max is on iOS 17.0.2 and iPhone 14 Pro Max is on iOS 17.0.1.

I’ve just seen one other twitter user mention it. So I came on here and typed “iOS 17 stickers broken” and glad I found this thread

Same issue here. Upgraded from 14 Pro Max to 15 Pro Max (restored from backup) and stickers wouldn't work. Drawer opens and closes. I wiped the phone and setup from fresh. It worked a couple of times but now going to use it the problem is the same as before...opens and closes. I'm also on 17.0.2
 
Happened to me too. I just signed out and signed back in from iCloud. I didn’t bother doing a whole erase and restore since my backup is over 500GB (yeah… I know…)

It shortly came back but only on my iPad Pro. Signed out and signed in again and it seems to just be a temporary fix.

Might still have to report it to AppleCare support. Otherwise it won’t get acknowledged. It is what it is. I noticed 2 other people on Twitter mention they had the same issue. And AppleCare used to always tell me to sign out of iCloud and sign back in back in the day, before factory restoring during troubleshooting.

EDIT: happened again on the iPhone 15 Pro Max Twice even after signing out and signing back in to iCloud. And I’ve noticed about 10 different people on Twitter reporting having the same issue since getting an iPhone 15 model. So it’s becoming a known issue to them. But they’re wanting us to report it.

Running into the same issue. I tested it on my 14 pro max and it worked perfectly. Was looking forward to creating more when i got my 15 pro max. However it just crashes on 17.0.2

YES. It worked on my previous phone but it is not working on my iPhone 15 Pro Max. The UI will not load in Photos or Messages.

You are not alone. Worked fine on iPhone 14 Pro Max / iOS 17.0.1, but on iPhone 15 Pro Max/iOS 17.0.2 - stickers don't work, same behavior others have described here.
 
Just upgraded my MacBook to Sonoma, and stickers worked for like 1/2 a second. My custom stickers showed up, but now it's doing the same thing in MacOS Sonoma as it does on iOS 17.0.2.

I was hopeful the Sonoma upgrade would help, since the release summary states specifically for messages that stickers sync between MacOS, iOS and iPadOS. I was hoping the 'fix' would propagate from the Mac to my other devices, but alas, it appears that the issue synced to my Mac instead.

There must be some kind of issue between the stickers functionality in each OS and the iCloud interface.

LOL, well that’s no good. SOmeone screwed up the stickers feature. Luckily this isn’t critical. But still. It was a feature called out in their marketing materials.

Update: I have a family member who has iOS 17.0.2 on iPhone 15 Pro, and has no issue with stickers. So, I started thinking about differences between our iCloud settings.
I have iCloud+ Private Relay enabled, and Advanced Data Protection turned on, and cannot use iMessage stickers.
My family member does NOT have these features enabled, and is able to use iMessage stickers.

Those of you that are also having issues - do you have either / both of these iCloud settings enabled?

I got both of these turned off and mine still don’t work
 
Yeah, mine is off as well. :(. oh it was enabled on my mac Mini m2. But disabling it did nothing. So stickers is broken on all my Apple devices et al. My Desktop, Iphone, & Ipad.

On Desktop doing this few times isn't a big problem. But signing in and out on the iphone is a hassle. Because when you sign out it removes all your Apple Wallet cards. THen you got to add them all back. So hopefully Apple addresses in the future at some point. It's not a huge deal fortunately, lol. Stickers not working isn't the end of the world.
 
Update: Just updated my iPhone 15 and iPad to iOS/iPadOS 17.0.3 released today. Still broken. 😠
