Making it might not be the problem.
I'm wondering if the same design in aluminum wouldn't be strong enough.
Those skinny rods are awful thin to begin with and then they're hollowed out at both ends for the screw threads and in the middle where the two pieces mate.
We just might have to wait for a sturdier design like the one from Click.
Or someone could make a steel one and give it a bead blast finish to try and mimic the aluminum.

Yep, it would be tough (or impossible) to make something this shape out of aluminum that wouldn't snap. I suspect this is why all the Sport edition bands use rubber instead.

However, it's the finish and not the material that needs to match. I expect it will take some time, but eventually we will see someone make an anodized finish that is a close match to that on the Sport edition's body.

I am a backer of click and they will be shipping out the aluminium adapters to me in July. But being the impatient me, I ordered a 3rd party steel adapter, used a nail filer and sanded down the polished sides of the adapter. I assume that these steel adapters are anodised silver and then buffed on the ends to achieve the polished look. So I guess it is safe to sand down the sides to get the matt look to match the Aluminium Sport Watch. I did a video on how I did it and if you are interested you can view it here (skip to about 10:00mins) :

Or instead of doing this just buy this off of ebay. It is the non shiny brushed stainless version from the Utica guy. It also uses the pin version and comes with a tool. Easy on off with bands. You can get it in 42mm or 38mm.

I know most people will want to wait for Click, but for 17.24 their is nothing to lose. It ships from U.S.

That's an astonishing difference (before and after), and IMO it actually looks pretty good. I will be considering this! Thank you so much for taking the time to make the video and post it here for us.

After ordering both style adapters I've decided to just go with a leather loop for now and wait until someone comes out with a version that matches the bead blasted aluminum finish on the sport model. If anyone is interested I'm willing to sell both of the 42mm adapters I ordered at a loss for $25 shipped. PM me if interested.

The only adapter I've found with an aluminum finish for the Apple Watch Sport is this website:

http://watchshoppe.co/products/apple-watch-band-adapter-aluminum

But its $35.99 which feels really expensive. I haven't bought one so I don't know if its any good (or how close the finish is to the actual watch) but I've heard good things about the quality of their Stainless Steel version.

Anyone been able to find anything else yet?
