Hmm some people here have envy on those Samsung foldable phones. Just enjoy your future new P-Hole iPhone. BTW the P stands for Pill and we all know that the hole is the punch hole next to it, such a unbalanced design.
Not I. The foldable phone thing as per Samsung is a gimmick. Perhaps in the future, if their practicality is established, then I’d like to see one from Apple. I liked flip phones -With the introduction of Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 which is the second generation of its foldable phone, no foldable iPhone is released up to now. I feel a bit disappointed. Anyone has the same feeling?

I don't want a foldable phone, at least not now. But if you think that Apple is "behind" when Samsung is only on its second generation, you don't seem to know Apple's way to doing things. If Apple is coming with a foldable at all, it would not surprise me if its first generation comes when others are on their sixth or seventh or more, and then its features would also be years behind. And at that time, whether it's the truth or whether we will be lying to ourselves, we will say that Apple things come late because Apple wants things done right. With the introduction of Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 which is the second generation of its foldable phone, no foldable iPhone is released up to now. Maybe, maybe not. I think Apple is the better innovator of the two. If Sammy’s foldable catches on, or is proven practical, maybe Apple will follow along - but right now its just a bell&whistle.Samsung’s “gimmick” paves the way for Apple to even make a foldable.
More folks around here will be (magically) interested in a folding iPhone when/if Apple sells one.
My comment was in response to those who speak in absolutes - “I will NEVER be interested in a foldable!”Or perhaps not "magically" but logically because of the way Apple approaches the concept. And of course it's easier to get interested in something that uses the same OS you're used to / is in the same "ecosystem".

All of the reasons you listed make sense, and are exactly why those same folks will walk those comments back.
Not at all, looking at the issues people have had with Z Fold 3, I don’t think it would be in Apple’s interest to enter the space just yet. With the introduction of Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 which is the second generation of its foldable phone, no foldable iPhone is released up to now. It will take them a while. They are basically waiting for Samsung or another company to get to a position where they can make them at scale for Apple.Foldables are the future! Candybar smartphones are so two-dimensional, structurally and emotionally. Apple needs to add a third dimension to the structure of their phones and make them interesting again!
It’s hilarious to read this review whose headline says “how I learned to stop worrying and love foldables” (and “just buy your first foldable, already”); it has paragraph after paragraph of equivocation, comments on how impractical the design is, etc.:

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 review: How I learned to stop worrying and love foldables
Samsung's Galaxy Z Flip 4 is one foldable that manages to finally feel accessible enough to recommend to almost anyone.www.androidpolice.com
I’ve been following smartphones closely since 2009, and have never seen the kind of obligatory-feeing hype that the blogosphere is giving these phones, even though they’re clearly full of disadvantages.
