These are bands that are beyond the ones provided with the specific Apple Watch color(s) and this year third party retailers are selling the aluminum Apple Watch with sport loops. These premade arrangements are for Apple to sell them in these stores to avoid having resellers do extra work by unwrapping the Watch and putting a band of the customer’s choice, which Apple Store allows customization of products by the customer’s choice due to the supply and ease of service.

Which S10 or Ultra were you looking to upgrade from your Apple Watch Series 7?
Series 10 GPS+Cellular 46 mm Aluminum Silver with Lake Green sport band.

I have it since launch day and I love it.

So they cannot refund you for the trade in value as the S7 got lost during transit? In online trade in it is different where you get the new Apple Watch first and then they send in a box to put the old one back in and they have to check it out once it’s at Apple.

Nice color as well. Why no jet black?

I hope they will refund me despite what happened...

I don't like jet black or any dark colour for Apple Watches.

Some of you have got me curious. A number of you have said you take videos and pictures for proof of packing and sending. Does Apple's trade-in instructions/terms and conditions of trade-in instruct owners to take pictures and/or videos of the item being packed? because if not, if you follow ALL the instructions of the trade-in and the terms and conditions of the trade-in Apple cannot turn round and say 'sorry, we think you stole back your own device'.

Do they really take trade in’s in the store?

Yes - if you order for in-store pickup you are given the option of doing the trade-in at the Apple store. I've done this a couple times over the years - handed over my trade-in watch, they looked it over, verified it was unpaired, and deducted the trade value from my new watch purchase.

if you sent via fedex or any reputable company it is a tracked parcel
each time the barcode is scanned and logged to system it also logs the personnel or ID at each stage. this is standard for any track and movement system . so dig deeper you may find the answer . i worked on track and movement it also doubled up as employee movement, workplace movement. example parcel left point a and arrived at point b via vehicle so who was the driver who did driver hand over too and so on . just dig a bit deeper or request data on movement of parcel. sometimes you got think smarter than the person your dealing with throw scenarios and questions at them don’t sit back until you exhausted all scenarios

When my 16 Pro got "lost" at UPS for launch day, I had to file a police report to get UPS to look for it because their useless reps would not lift a finger.

Police showed up and magically, the hub manager found my iPhone and had it delivered.

Sure, but that doesn't really tell anyone who removed the watch from the package and resealed it. Especially if the package were sitting with others in an area accessible by multiple people as happens when you drop off something to a Fedex/Kinkos or UPS Store hours before the truck comes in to pickup the day's shipments. I imagine there's similar scenarios at other points in the package's journey as well.

BTW - all that tracking doesn't necessarily mean anything either. I ordered something earlier this year which FedEx delivered somewhere other than my house. Shipper worked with fedex for weeks trying to locate the (large/heavy) package and eventually shipped a replacement when fedex couldn't locate the original. I was lucky that I had proof the package wasn't delivered to my house since the driver cleverly cropped the photo to just show part of the box sitting on concrete and no other details.

⌚️ hopefully they will reimburse you!!! Did you end up having to get the S10 full price while you are waiting for a refund?

Apple indeed has so much changes to the dark colors of the Apple Watch and the iPhone. Slate is OG, space gray is the OG aluminum color for darker gray, graphite is for a darker color of stainless steel but as a shiny stainless steel color of space gray, midnight for a darker blue tone of space gray and space black and jet black are the darkest shades with material differences. Jet black is for the aluminum S10s and the all aluminum iPhone 7 through an anodizing process to achieve the dark polished look.

Many people will say making a stolen item claim to the police is pointless because the value of the item it not high enough to warrant a police investigation. Many times the police will even tell you it's pointless because they do not have the time to investigate and to instead just claim on insurance giving them a crime number.

Now the thing is, what the police say might be true BUT it is still very important to report the theft because of one thing, the companies insurance company. Depending on which country you live in, companies are supposed to have employee insurance and liability insurance. When the companies insurance renewal come up, their insurance company will check things that could affect the renewal price, things such as how many insurance claims has been made against the company, how many small claims (small claims court) has been made against the company, how many police complaints have been made against the company (this includes theft). Insurance companies have access to certain police figures so how bad do you think it is going to look if the company has a large number of police records of theft against it? The insurance company will look at this and assess that the company has a worse liability than before and thus the insurance company will massively increase the cost of the insurance renewal. Company bosses will see the massive price hike in the insurance renewal and will start asking questions as to why.

Companies can hide a lot from insurance companies to avoid massive price increases in their insurance policies but one thing they cannot hide is police records. Granted it does not really help the customer who has lost their item BUT in the long term it will have an affect on the company because if the company is a large company, it could be the difference have say having a $3 million liability insurance cover to $10 million because the insurance companies considers the company to be at a greater liability risk and that is all because some company employee's could not be bothered to take care of customers packages.

So to the OP, report the theft to the police because it will make a difference.

Did you happen to film any video of you sealing the box? I had an issue with FedEx “losing” my iPhone trade in one year (long story short, they eventually found it sitting in the back of a truck in a back lot for about a week), so I always make sure to not only take a picture of everything before I send it, but also film a video of me sealing the device. I also usually like to put some lines/signature/drawing on the seal you’d need to break to get the device, since this can clearly show to Apple that somebody opened the box in transit.

While my phone was in limbo, Apple seemed pretty good about being willing to close out my loan for the iUP since there was evidence I actually sent the device to them and it was on the shipper from that point on.
Earlier this week I sent my IPhone and watch trade-ins using the packaging provided by Apple. The UPS employee told me to hang on to my receipts for a long time. I asked why and he told me that some of the returned products are being stolen at some point in the process., between the time when they are dropped off at UPS and when the receiving company opens up the boxes. He said he could tell that one of the boxes held a phone because of its weight. I am now nervous about my returns given the value that Apple has given me for my devices which are in pristine condition. I checked today and the boxes arrived at their destination around 10:00 AM today Oct. 11 according to UPS tracking. I have never had any problems before so it didn't occur to me that I should videotape and photograph my returns.

My iPhone 16 Pro that I paid $1100 was considered a felony grand theft case so the local police dept sent an officer to the local UPS hub to investigate 2 days after I filed the police report.

Sure enough, the police made the UPS Manager "cough" up the missing iPhone 16 after 5 days of it being "lost / stolen" - something I could not do with UPS customer service.

Still left a soured feeling after UPS failed to deliver on launch day:

After 18 days of receiving the email... Apple has sent me another email telling me that the agreed amount of money will be credited to me.

They don't give me any details about the investigation they carried out, but they finally give me my money.

That’s great news! Did they find the package that went missing?

I don’t know. They did’t share any information about the investigation.

They told me this (google translation):

“We've completed our investigation and are issuing you a renewal credit based on your original valuation.

We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you again for your trust in Apple.”

And this in other email:

“Good news: Your renewal is now complete.

Thanks for using Apple Trade In. Everything is fine, so we'll issue a refund to your original payment method.”

Weird! So probably at the start someone forgot about your series 7? You still got the credit back! Idk how they would mess up as I never trade in anything through Mail. But you can report to the postal service inspector in your area if it was actually stolen.
