My Ipad was stolen from my house. Anytips on how to possibly recover? Most likely taken by someone who knew I had an Ipad. Really wish I had mobile me right now. I know it sounds ridiculous but it was taken while I was out on a run. Asked my roommates and none of them had touched it.

That sucks bad. I doubt you can, just report it stolen and maybe see if you can't advise Apple of the stolen iPad.

When you left your roommates in the house was anyone else over? How many roommates do you have?

I'm sorry this has happened to you. I'm assuming you've retraced the last time you were using it and had a think about who was around.

As much as I love the iPad this kind of thing is a worry, I won't be getting it out too much in public for a while.

It's most likely gone forever. Let this be your excuse to buy another one, this time with 3G.

Must have MobileMe -- it is that much more worthwhile if you have more than one iDevices.

Time to change friends and your locks. I would face punch a friend with a baseball bat for stealing from me.

/b

Although I don't know your roommates, they'd be the first suspects....especially if there was no sign of breaking in/entering.

What's wrong with you guys? The OP asked about whether somebody has an idea to recover his iPad, and repeatedly said that he trusts his roommates, but you keep blaming the roommates and tell him to change his friends..

You could try to call Apple and tell them the serial number in case the thing pops up when it's repaired.. I've heard that they keep track of that in some countries, though I've tried that when my Powerbook was stolen and they told me that they don't do that where I live.

EDIT: sorry, he only stated once that his roommates didn't touch it. Still.

Yeah the roommates are out of the question though i would not be surprised if it was someone in my social circle.

Well if no one broke in then it's most likely one of your friends or roommates' friends.

Stolen IPad

Find my iPad

Just like the iPhone, the iPad can connect to MobileMe and take advantage of the find my iPhone/iPad features. You’ll be able to locate it, wipe it remotely, make it show a message or play an alert.

You really need to relax and get some manners. Mob rule helps nobody.

What kind of a society would punish theft with painful death?!

A good one. What gives a theif the right to steal something from someone who worked hard to actually earn their iPad or what ever else. What gives them the right of entitlement. Rid the world of thieves I say. :)

Sorry about your iPad op. You should call the cops and file a report, and turn up the heat on your roommates. Do you have any kind of renters/property insurance?
