These are different in style and start to give a sense of location as to where I am shooting. All shot at 24mm.
Some of the youths in the centre resort to burning the Bible to pass and enjoy the time. Others just want to bring their ipods and portable speakers.
A small group are deciding whether to move to a discrete locale in order to drink without being stopped by council officials/police. In the background, the large outdoor TV screen recently erected for the public to watch the Olympics for 2012. Local government fear it will be damaged because of the youths and the attention they attract.
Some of the youths carrying out their plan to move to the other location away from the city centre.
Promotional flyers are handed out to the crowd of youths to events they are actually underage for, from staff in local bars.
If the council do move the youths on, what will the space they leave behind be like? Meeting up in Castle Gardens outside McDonalds has been going on for around 10 years. This spot is handy for being central while having food and public toilets for them so they don't have to travel far.

At the moment, to a lot of them I am a curiosity, I get asked what I'm doing and once I've explained they don't care, I did get invited to a new location to document them on saturday as well. (The location mentioned in the B&W's about moving to another location to get some uninterrupted drinking done.)
They also think I'm about the same age and I like to think I dress quite hip still for a 27 year old. Some think I'm only 23 and others think I'm a pedophile; they seriously ask me this.
I think they are just recalling the stories off the news and repeating words they've heard off the TV.
In the 4th one down, I asked one of them for that flyer to look at it, then held my camera with one hand to compose that shot with the flyer touching the guys arm. Kinda weird now I'm looking at what I did. Most of the time now they just talk to me like I'm their friend and I tell them to ignore me if I'm taking pictures because I am still listening. Helps that I interview them and bring them small photo samples from past visits to butter them up as well!

I went out today again and shot some more with the kids in Swansea. You can tell now that my access to them has become very close. Turned on the flash, shutter speed was 1/8th and had some fun. Some are drunk btw.

I mainly followed 2 girls in particular because they are very manic and run around a lot, they are very close with each other and I thought it would fit them.
On my end the previews look crap, click on the images for better colours. I don't know why but just do it!
