So much wrong in this post...
HD is SSD so way faster than normal HD...
RAM is 4GB...
The graphics card is not bad for a laptop, he'll the 13MBP has the same one...

TS you probably can run FIFA in the low settings, check 11 req and from there build onnit; same for BF check BF2 specs and so on...
You can run Age of Empires III pretty good since I run it fine in my 2007 crappy 950 int card. Also older COD games should run.

You obviously didn't read my follow up post. I already corrected myself on the drive. As far as the GPU goes it's inferior compared to a discrete card with dedicated VRAM and all but the simplest games will run poorly. Any mainstream games just released recently or to be released in the future will run poorly on a GPU that is integrated and shares the slower main RAM. Serious gaming on a laptop or desktop with an integrated GPU like the Intel HD 3000 isn't going to be a good experience.

yeah but you said 4mb not 4gb of RAM
and no laptop is really good for gaming, if you want to game the latest games you need a desktop plain and simple.

that is completely subjective. "good" doesn't mean the same thing to everyone.

My laptop plays every game I want it to play fantastic... so I find it very good for gaming.

not a gaming machine huh? ive got my 2010 running bf3 alpha, crysis 2, and lots of other intense titles at very acceptable frame rates. gpu overclocked at 600/1200. i have a very very very beefy gaming desktop that i constantly upgrade so i realize that a macbook air isnt a top of the line $2000 gaming computer, but it still impresses me

you said 2010 MBA is capable for running bf3 alpha as well as crysis 2? what frame rates are they running on 20-30fps? and i'm assuming that everything is being set to low?

This post is meant for those of you who doesn't own a MBA 13".

I absolutely hate to read posts from "clever" people who write about something they have little to no clue about.

"The MBA cannot play any game"
"It is not a gaming machine, so you cannot game on it"
"The graphics card is integrated, so you cannot game on it"
and so on.....

It is true that an integrated graphics card is not as good as a dedicated card. OFC!

But that means nothing.

Crysis 2 can be played on my 2010 13" MBA. I cannot remember the framerate. But it was fine.
Every single source game (CS:S, HL2, TF2, L4D1&2...) plays wonderfully.
HoN plays awesome aswell.

People, please stop replying to something you know nothing about.
You are only making OP of these threads confused, because what you are writing is simply NOT TRUE.

You CAN game on the MBA.

With all this said, the MBA is not a beast. But it is decent.

Still mad... Oh well.. Hope this was helpful.

I disagree. I do own a MacBook Air all be it the the first revision. Regardless whether I own one or not I can still make an accurate statement about whether it's good for gaming or not. It's not good for gaming at least not for someone who plays games regularly and often buys the newest games. Yes some games will run fine but games like Crysis2, Battlefield 3' Deus Ex, Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Rage etc. Will not run at a a frame rate which is acceptable. Please don't try to kid people into thinking the MacBook Air can be used as a gaming machine for anything else other then casual games.

I don't play any game which set lower than high on video setting. lower setting looks like ****. again, MBA what years. it doesn't matter. it's not for gaming. don't try to persuade people. obvious thing is obvious. plus, if you run game longer period of time, your logic board will be in trouble because unibody structure wasn't designed for efficient ventilation of hot air from inside in terms of gaming.
