I’ve recorded my experiences with Amazon Basics, Ergotron LX and Herman Miller Ollin arms on the owner‘s thread - for my criteria, Ollin winds hands down. All the other ones were WAY too stiff to move around/adjust.

Vesa comes in different sizes. What is the right size for the Studio Display?

AFAIK, all the monitor arms share the same mount specs which is compatible with ASD. Not sure if theres a different size for TVs then….?

There are several sizes available for TVs and computer displays:
  • 75 mm x 75 mm
  • 100 mm x 100 mm
  • 200 mm x 200 mm
  • 400 mm x 400 mm
  • 600 mm x 400 mm
  • 800 mm x 400 mm
Apple uses a 100 x 100 mm VESA mount, as does LG for most of their computer displays. It generally depends on the size of the panel you're trying to mount though. Some even come with multiple size options in the metal plate for the display that you mount to the VESA arm/stand.

Was Ergotron stiff even after playing with the various bolts/screws to get the tension properly calibrated (just watched the adjustment video)?

I did do all the suggested adjustments and even a rigorous exercise routine bending all the joints back & forth for quite while, trying to get them loosen up. No major change to the issue.

I'm considering an ASD with the VESA mount and and my research also points to the Ollin arm.

Something like this Atdec AF-ATC arm is though perhaps better for me as I'm not going to adjust vertically too often, plus it's available in silver, and it's half the price of the Ollin. I was reading on Reddit that this type of arm induces less wobble, a primary concern for me.
