I have to change my internal DVD multi drive (Mac Pro 2010).
Do you have any suggestions?
Suggestions for Blu-ray drives are also welcome.
Thank you in advance!
Pioneer make the best optical drives. I'd buy this if I were you. And it can playback UHD Blu-rays (4K) if you have a 4K monitor to go with it:

Bought this drive last year. Works well in my MacPro. Easy installation.

It seems quit solid drive. The only thing that concerns me is the E-GREEN technology; If you'd like a cheaper alternative than the Pioneer Drive I mentioned above check out this one from Asus, it's got great ratings on amazon:

I've been using a LG blu Ray burner in my mac pro's since 2014 no issues they work great
+1Oh yeah, one more caveat. Many drives will make a noise every few minutes if OSX is booted and there is no disc inserted. Some do not. The problem doesn't happen in Windows. It also doesn't happen if there is a disc inserted.
I think it depends on the model, not on the manufacturer^^^^See Post #7 above.
