Back in early April, I suddenly became unable to block spam and malicious SMS messages. Then, in the final days of May, I was unable to block malicious and spam email senders. After multiple chats with Senior Apple Advisors, I apparently have blocked the maximum allowed contacts for both Mail and Phone/Messanger. Does anyone have an App suggestion to fill the void that Apple's OS won't allow?

I think this is also a bug as I am getting the maxed out blocked sender list message with only 3k on my device. When you block you will get the warning, but it still does block it anyway.

Yes, I believe that to be true. Back in January/February when I first experienced this issue, senior Apple Support reps told me it was a known bug with teams actively working on a fix. It was not until the last week of July when a new Apple OS was pushed out that reps informed me of this limit. Which, from a tech standpoint, makes no sense. The data space required to store individual addresses as "spam" is essentially inconsequential.

I imagine with the AI resource crunch, every second of computing they can save will become a priority now.

Always thought spam was usually from random accounts and that blocking the sender was an exercise in futility? <shrug>

Yes, as blocking never really did much, aside from visually informing me that the contact/content was spam. Regardless, it was a good feature to have, until it suddenly wasn't. 🤷‍♂️

I donated to my party and was inundated with spam text’s ever since. I mean 20-30 texts a day. Would not be so bad except for the fact my company received much of its customer communications via text.😡

Similar scenario for me, the moment I was retired from the US Army in 2022, email & phone spam increased 10 fold year over year. So much so, that as I mentioned, I am now unable to block entities.
