My current one. Louie Mantia - Alt Colors, theme wallpaper off using my found wallpaper, hide labels. EDIT - I'm not crazy about the orange iPod dock icon. Would rather have Oren's version but not sure how to do that. Also I'd love to have a reflective transparent dock like Leopard. (Taking suggestions).

nice :D

Where to get these themes?

Hi Guys, excellent work on all these summerboard themes, there are some really nice looking skins.

I use apptapp and only see a handful of themes available to use. I was wondering where I can get some or all of these themes along with icons from and to also ask if someone could kindly point me in the right direction for how to upload these themes to my iphone for use with summerboard.

Sorry if this question has been asked, I appreciate any and all help with this.

Thanks much in advance,

B&T:)

You have to add them manually, or add sources like modmyifone's. To add them manually, go to var/root/Library/Summerboard/Themes. Then add a new folder with the name of the theme. Put the Wallpaper.png, StatusBar.png, and/or Dock.png there, make sure the names are pefect, even to the case of the letter. Then make a new folder called Icons, make sure its a capital I. Then add the icons which are named with perfect upper or lowercase. Like the icon for Summerboard needs to be SMBPrefs.

Thanks for the screenshots everyone...

The only thing I don't understand is how to get a specific dock with a different theme. How do I apply the iPod touch reflection-style dock, for example? I don't see a way to do that. Thanks.

Just go to /var/root/Library/Summerboard. Choose the theme you would like to edit, and overwrite that dock with the reflection dock.

i want to change mine but have no idea how. I can ssh into the phone but after that I have no idea how to get the new icons on there. is there a program that allows drag and drop functionality? It's driving me insane trying to figure this out. everytime is use the putfile command it is rejected.

Use installer to install one theme and then use that as a guide to sFTP other theme files. sFTP programs are drag and drop.

How do i sftp, i tried connecting via fetch but it rejects my password? I need instructions from the perspective on someone who doesn't know anything.

If you have used Fetch then you know how to sFTP files, its no different than regular FTP.

Make sure you are doing a sFTP and not a regular FTP.

Info is straight forward

Host: IP address
User: root
Pass: change it like I mentioned in the other thread and use that.

Install Summerboard and any theme.

In Fetch look at the permissions and file structure Library > Summerboard > Themes > Name of theme and match them. Try installing a second theme and copy it to your computer. Delete it from your phone in Fetch and try uploading it. Hint if you copy your theme folder onto the Themes icon, rather than being in the Themes folder, it will set the correct permissions for you.

Use Summerboard to change your themes.

This theme is designed around my iPod's Gelaskin - Kobe.

I'm just using the summerboard theme (I like the ones with the reflective docks, but they cut off my wallpaper) and a cool wallpaper that came in one of the wallpaper packs in Installer.

Also, I used MakeItMine to set the carrier name to Rogers...not the Canadian carrier; my last name is Rogers ;)

Most of these are pretty terrible, don't you think?

They are pretty huge perversions on the whole simplicity aesthetic. I like the first one, Louie Mantia's icons are better than Apple's. But some of the ones after that... well I don't know.

^ I agree. I don't like most of them, they're too crazy/over the top/busy looking. I like most of Apple's default icons, which is why I use a theme that keeps them. But this craziness is what you get whenever you get into a user-themeable piece of software...most people have little to no taste for clean aesthetics. Which is why really good user interface designers are kind of few and far between.
