has anyone uses the Cloning function in Micromat‘s TechTools Pro, don’t thinks it’s as full featured as SD( i own but requires a new copy $$ for  Silicon) or Ccc .

ccc ripped me off and i switched to sd. sd is better and the dev is not a jerk
CCC Price is $50 upgrade is $25, interfaced with dev many times always been proactive, the full upgrades you can try 30 days free to determine whether you need it yet. The major updates always involve significant expanded usage, usually each version supports multiple years of macOS. See https://bombich.com/download

SuperDuper is more modestly price at $27.95 and provides a straight forward interface to use.

If anything is important for me its since I test macOS seeds, I want up to date pre release macOS support at the earliest this I get from CCC, and I noticed SuperDuper eventually providing similar supper a bit later.

I recently settled on CCC because I needed the flexibility of folder-to-disk backups rather than just disk-to-disk (unless the paid version of SD offers this?)

I also need CCC's checksum feature.

And now I'm questioning if I made the right decision. CCC didn't warn me there wasn't enough room on the destination disk, it just went ahead and copied whatever would fit.

I have never heard of the developer being a jerk much less "ripping off" customers. What happened in your case?
It was a while back. I bought the app and there was a version update right after as there was some breaking change and he wouldn’t cut me a break.

Wow, talk about a 2013 thread coming back from the dead. Page 1 2013, Page 2 2025! Wow! I did enjoy memory lane on page 1 though, Mountain Lion too. :)

SuperDuper! all the way for me but if you already have CCC, that is fine too. I have SD and have had many others purchase SD. I don't think you could go wrong with either one. I've found them both proactive in development.

Ug and LOL, I got tricked too and started giving 👍 to 12 year old posts! I wish people would stop with the necromancy. 1 year-old thread, ok... 12 year old thread, let it RIP.

CCC has been good for me.
