Reason being, I just tried another game demo from Virtual Programming and they don't disclose anywhere that it in fact is Windows emulation using Cider or Wine and not a proper port at all!

Don't the Source Mac games have Windows files as well, but they're still not Cider/Wine. As far as I know, the Source engine converts some DirectX stuff to OpenGl, which is why it has Windows files, but it's still a native port.

Any API translation process makes it much less of a native game. "Windows" files are just packages, there are no dll's or ".exe" files. It's the engine code that matters.

Really glad VP ported this over. Loved TA all those years ago and am loving this game too.

I don't care too much that it's a bit buggy and crashes a lot. I'm just glad we got a real port. With any luck VP will fix the bugs that exist at the moment.

It is true that it's a little bit odd that you pay for the game over at deliver2mac and then everything else is handled by Steam, but again, I really don't care.

I also bought the DLC on steam just to see if it would work. I new get an "Enable DLC for multiplayer" tick box on the main menu so I guess it worked just fine... Still playing through the campaign so haven't tried MP or Skirmish yet to see if it really is there.
