Had that problem as well. What I did to fix it is everytime it couldn't see me and wanted to enter a pin and logged on I went to settings and did the improve facial recognition. When I set it up I do facial recognition straight at the camera, tilt it and have it catch me looking from above, and then do a looking right and looking left scan. I do one in ptch black and go outside and do one when its bright and to top it off I do one with a hat. With that it now gets me every single time no matter what. Might take a few mins but well worth it.

Taking that extra step really does help. It did wonders for me after only doing it twice.

I have done that a couple of times, I probably need to do it more. I am guessing with the strong sunlight from behind me issue is that it is shining right into the camera and essentially blinding it. The same thing happens with the collision avoidance cameras in the car at certain times of the day.

Windows Hello really is kind of one of those things you never knew you wanted and now that you have it would be really annoying to loose it. I think in a 2 month period I might have had to type my PIN in maybe 4 times. When I first got a surface with it I thought it was going to be a huge gimmick.

A little like the unlock with Apple Watch thing to for Mac. That is one of my favorite features about the watch. It doesn't work 100% of the time either, but it mostly works and I like it a lot better than the finger print scanner.

I didn't even know that it was able to do that. Have you tried the dynamic lock feature on your computer? It's the opposite of the watch but is pretty cool.

I have tried to use it, but it has been buggy for me. I saw a thread, I believe in the Windows Ten Forums, that it can be a little buggy with the iPhone, but works much better with Android phones.

I get a "Your paired device cannot be found. It may be off, out of range or its Bluetooth is off" message.

Ah yes. I have an Android phone. No experience on an iPhone. Does Your Phone app work with iOS? That's what i'm really excited for. it's bare bones now but hopefully they will expand it. Finally able to text message from the computer.

No, I believe that works only with Android? I am sure Apple would never allow that to work with the walled garden :)

Honestly I hate iOS as a phone OS and despise Android and told myself I would never have one. I got a windows phone. Nokia 1020, probably the best phone I ever had. When it died I had to make a choice of iOS or Android. It was brutal but I ended up with Android and could never go back to iOS!

I was a little worried about Windows Hello. but I like it. We took two scans of me, with glasses and without.
Take one with a hat as well if you ever wear one. Windows Hello has been pretty perfect for me but on the few times in the years it coul'dnt recognize me I went into settings-accounts-and did the improve facial recognition right where I was that it didn't work which, was usually due to the sun or something behind me or the extreme angle it failed at and after about 5 times doing that I have to say it gets me 99% of the time for the last two years. Also do one in pitch darkness as well to improve.
