The new type cover is night and day, I cannot believe how good it feels. The track pad is better, but its not up to the same Mac trackpad level but its a bit better.
I'll be getting one as soon as BestBuy near me has some. I have $25 in reward certificates to use for this.

I'm spending more time with the device, and I must say, I like it a lot. There are things that my Mac does better, but there are others the Mac just can't do. Like the attached. A handful of drawings I made in Autodesk Sketchbook.

I am not impressed with the Type Cover, however, and think that will be going back. Scrolling isn't as smooth as a Magic Trackpad I tethered to it. And I *think* the Type Cover has a pretty large effect on battery, too. A bluetooth solution is, I think, better.

You can do the same on the Mac with Wacom Intuos Pro. Plus, you won't get your screen with reeks of oil on the Macbook as well.

That's not "the same." Now, it would be "the same" if you'd said "Cintiq" instead of "Intuos Pro," but then we're adding quite a bit of money. It's okay that the SP4 can do things a MacBook can't. It doesn't mean it is better or worse.

Are you still within the return window? What makes you want to go for the Surface Book?

I am unable to return anything to Best Buy as I hit their "you have have returned too many things" wall. I just like the look of it. Originally wanted the SB but no one had them in stock.

Try this:

Go to Settings/Devices/Mouse & Touchpad, and scroll down until you see "to help prevent the cursor from blah blah blah...". Look at the dropdown menu below it, and set it to Short Delay or No Delay (always on). You'll probably have to log out or reboot to get it to work, but it sets it up so that you don't have to drag your fingers quite so much before the trackpad decides to pick it up as an action.

Yes, this makes a world of difference, not sure why it isn't set that way out of the box.

Just checked and it was already on there. Still laggy in websites and stuff. This is my second SP4 and my second Type Cover and both were the same for me. The Magic Trackpad (first one) is way more responsive.

There is, though it is kind of a bit buried. Go to settings>accounts>family & other users>add someone else to this PC. When it asks you how they'll log in, click the "I don't have this person's sign in information", then "add a user without a Microsoft account". Bam. Done.

... and they can't use the mail or calendar clients without an MS account... which was the point I made.

This may have fixed my issue. I'll continue to play with it.

I'll give it a go, because they're right. Pinch to zoom practically doesn't work as its currently implemented.

Though if you're using Firefox or Chrome as your primary browser, I could understand why you're experiencing lag, and I'm not. In Edge, and even in IE based off the one time I used it, scrolling is smooth and immediate. Other browsers still rely primarily on a mouse with a scroll wheel.

Another Best Buy outcast Nice to meet ya! I got the dreaded message when I returned my SP4 for a SB. After seeing that I just returned it left the SB on the counter. Yeah they taught me a lesson....Buy from Microsoft!

How many items have you returned?

How much have u spent this year?

I am elite plus member. Probably spent $15000 this year (mainly appliances).

But returned probably $5000 worth of stuff (couple of appliances didn't fit).

Returned same canon pixma printer like 5x cause they kept shipping me damages boxes and I wouldn't open the canon until I got a clean undamaged box.
