This is just going to take some time for certain apps. Companies like Facebook are huge bureaucracies now, they have software roadmaps that extend way out into the future and any updates go through extensive QA before release. Also, catering to Apple might not be at the top of their priority list. It's not like customers are going to run to a competing social media app because they didn't update their software soon enough. It's Facebook.

I'm glad Apple set a deadline. Otherwise some may never update.

Apple fragmented the market. Tablet market ismshrinking and theyve grown the screen variants again.

Facebook makes money two ways - by selling ad space that produces click-throughs, and by selling data they gain about us when we interact with the site. This is why they use algorithms to attempt to show us not what we want to see, but what will get and keep us engaging with the site.

I, like probably many of us here and many more not here, am both stubborn and a little social-media-lazy. I won’t install the FB app because I know they’re super lazy about updating it. And if I’m using my iPad, I’m not going to hunt down another device just so I can go on Facebook. So I don’t go on FB. They literally lose my engagement when they don’t update their apps, and I’m sure I’m not the only one they lose. So they have a compelling reason to update, because engagement is literally the only way they make money.

I’m sure not going to help them out if they’re not helping me out. They need me, I don’t need them. It’s the same for every single person who has a FB account. So yeah, they should feel pretty in need of making us happy.
