Not sure how long ago it was that you used Android, but I currently use it and I use Apex Launcher with ICS on my Galaxy Note, and it is perfectly stable.
This is my first Android device, so I can't speak about how it used to be, but the last 4 months with it have been just great. I wouldn't say it was any better than IOS, but I would say that it is very different and allows me to get things exactly the way I want them.

With that said......I am anxiously awaiting IP5 because I have a feeling Apple will surprise us all this time around!

I havent had my GS3 for a week yet so for the first time im using Apex and Nova launchers. Think i like Nova a little better. Both working very well and fast.
Havent even downloaded Launcher Pro or ADW Launcher EX this time around. Heard Go Launcher is good but havent tried it.

Wow! Those are some pretty noticeable differences in that video. One thing I wonder is, did he make sure the lens on the iPhone was clean. Some of those pics just seemed to have a bit of a haze over them, almost as if there may have been a fingerprint on the lens. I've taken plenty of pics with the iPhone and I never have gotten hazy looking pics in the daytime.

Took the plunge and switched over to AT&T to pick up the Galaxy S3. I love my Razr Maxx but Verizon's 4G network has been problematic for over a month now and they are far too expensive. I must say that the S3 has easily become my favorite phone after just the first day. The S2 was my prior favorite. I cannot find one thing I don't like about it. Yes, the camera is amazing. I shoot photos and videos for a living and I really can't believe the quality of photos this takes.

Change the record. Both are fine on my S3. I have an iPad and rarely notice apps being better on iOS. If anything, more are better on Android because it's not as limited.

Not to play devils advocate but so far Gameloft games do not work on SSGS3 and trying to either get news on a fix OR a refund seems unlikely.

What pisses me off about this thread now is it went from an unbiased review on a device to a "my penis is bigger than yours" post..... With the same characters that haunt every post that mentions both Android and Apple in the same thread spouting the same garbage.

Homourously enough I made a similar post requesting the mods kill the thread by reporting MY thread and they just removed the post that was similar to this one lol! It's like a juggernaut with a life of its own!

Didn't mean to derail the thread. I tend to respond to people but I don't start these conflicts :p

You probably won't want to do this but I'm going to give you the option anyway. If you root your phone you can edit a file called build.prop stored on it so that the market thinks your phone is another one - preferably something that Gameloft supports. Clearly this isn't the ideal solution as it could mean that some apps that work on the GS3 but not whatever you change yours to will no longer work. You could always change back and forth.

Would be a temporary solution until they update their games.

That said, there's no guarantee the games would run stable enough for you to enjoy them - maybe they're not on the GS3 yet for a reason.

Krait or Exynos? Or both?

I can't agree. At best, it's a wash, but more often than not the app is not optimized for a specific android device, so either the interface is not as nice, or the performance is not there.

Less than 24hrs ago I ran Flipboard on the Samsung GS3 and iPhone 4S side by side.

The iPhone 4S was faster loading, more responsive and the animations were visibly better.

Pandora certainly looks better as well.

Two fold issue on android: You can't optimize for a specific device without shrinking your market down to a sliver, and fragmentation, which means you risk the app not working at all, or working with no optimization and looking inferior to iOS.

Hmm really? The S3 certainly loads as quickly as the iPad version:

Apologies for the bad quality (logitech webcam) but I think you can just about see what's going on :p I clear both apps from memory then launch them.

Then again I have the international GS3 with the Exynos...

Wow, I was always very impressed with my camera on my 4S but in this video its almost no comparison the S3 is better. There are a couple times in the video (low light picture of purse and garage then the video focusing on the garbage can) I've noticed downfalls in the 4S however it seems the S3 fixed those issues..,

I've always liked Samsungs HDTV. Samsung displays always have vibrant images with slightly better contrast than competing vendors. Interested to see what improvements are made with the nextgen iPhone.

I went to play with a GS3 yesterday finally, I very close to buying one before playing with it in the store. Walked out without one.

I didn't mind the size of the device like I thought I would, and it felt nice in the hand shape wise, but it was not a high-quality feeling device at all; the plastic did not impress me. The screen size was very nice but I definitely prefer the HTC One X and iPhone 4S LCDs to the OMELED which appeared cartoony to me. And then the OS was definitely not fluid compared to iOS; I made sure everything was closed and then tried the same tasks on both my iPhone and the GS3 and there was this stutter present on the GS3 that just ruined the experience. Reminded me a bit of the iPhone 3GS in terms of app performance; now this doesn't mean that the phone itself was slow, but that graphics for day-to-day applications (i.e. non-game) seemed sluggish. The load times themselves were great; it was the actual in-app use that was stuttery. I can imagine Jelly bean might take care of that, will have to try it out when I see a JB device in person. It just wasn't smooth. And I actually think I like iOS notifications better only because it shows me specific things like mail contents, reminders before they happen, etc. but I love the individual notifications swipe away on ICS. Again, I think Jelly Bean improves the information preview aspect a bit.

Loved loved loved LTE speeds but expect the iPhone to get that anyway.

Maybe I'll reconsider in a few weeks but I didn't feel the drive to spend the $550 I anticipated spending when I walked into the store.

First off, its not made of normal plastic and second, pretty much everyone is praising the S3 for how fluid it is and you found lag and stutter? Sure you did, keep your iPhone please, thanks.

OR they are people who have been using iPhones for years and cant get used to Android. There are many in here who have made that statement.

LOL, what a load of BS. The S3 is still pretty hard to get with prices going well above retail, the 4s is a dime a dozen on CL and Ebay because there are so many of them out there. Nice try though.
