Hello,
Just switched myself a few days ago to a new imac. I had been reading these forums for a few years and just sitting on the fence. I was intrigued by the OS but hesitant to try something radically different. On black firday, with the 101$ rebate at the apple store, I went down to a local store and they matched the price. My wife and kids were also impressed by the looks of the computer (kids love photobooth and garage band) and told me to stop reading the forums and just buy one. So I did. It took a few days to get used to it and I have lots to learn..........But so far so good.........Much better than XP.
For those of you sitting on the fence, just try it out........keep your mind open to different ways of doing things. You'll enjoy it.

Congratulations on your purchase.

You really did pick the perfect family desktop.

The kids may get the white keyboard a bit grungy after a while, but otherwise
I really think everyone will enjoy their experience.

I have to admire your resolve going into those stores so many times yet emerging empty handed; perhaps you are in the wrong profession and should seek out more psychologically taxing career avenues.
:D

Even more ironic (or stupid), I even owned a PB for a few days before a local Apple technician told me the keyboard was defective and there was no easy way to fix it.

You're probably right about my resolve. I've probably visited an Apple Store or Apple retailer in Michigan or Ontario at least a dozen times now if not more. I will try politics as my next career move. :D
