Some dude who works at Polly's Pie restaurant thought my G5 was the Nexus 6P. He even asked me about it because he was thinking of switching. He said the only thing that keeps him from leaving iOS is iMessages. Nothing else.

Both platforms generally do the same things and what most users essentially want to do is run apps. I can't come up with anything fun to do with an iPhone. It's like trying to drive fast in a gated community with speed bumps.

XZ1 Compact > iPhone 8 (except in front camera)

Hate glass rears. Need 3.5 mm headphone port, matte rears, and microSD slot since transferring via SD adapter is way faster than iTunes. I haven't liked iTunes since I first started using it back in 2005. File manager, ftw.
Lmao loved that debate iOS vs Android.

Was totally on board until "Windows is still years behind" LOL
Well as for memory managment it still is, yes it has a lot more backward compatibility and as I said Windows 10 is a huge leap compared to older version, but Mac OS X still has the edge.

The gap is narrowing and quite fast, especially since the QC at Apple is tanking!

Just be gone already haha.

EDIT: for the record, I have considered a Galaxy S8, but there is so much more to it that just switching phones. I would lose the continuity features with my mac and iPad, I would lose iMessage, I would lose my Apple Watch, I would lose the full use of my AirPods (which are awesome), I would lose CarPlay, and I would lose more refined apps. If none of that matters to you, and you sound quite young, so give it a try.

I guess it really depends on where you post this question... on an Android forum, I was told to “smash it and pledge allegiance to the almighty Android.” And as much as I’d like to do that, I think this forum will give me some more legitimate answers.[/QUOTE]

Sorry, you thought wrong. ;)

Joined yesterday just to post this?
This is a troll.

Of course it is. The better trolls usually come in with a bit of a story that doesn't make it completely obvious at first. Having been on here so long though, its very common around the launch of each new iPhone. Its a concentrated effort to try and damage the launch and reduce those MASSIVE sales numbers. It never works of course.

Also its common for a troll to start a thread and then barely participate. The reason for this is that the front page of the forums gets intentionally flooded with negative posts. Think of it as a form of fake news. Then Apple fans keep it afloat with replies playing into the trolls hands. Kind of like what I am doing now LOL, but hey it will be just the same next year :)

Refined apps like the homescreen and app store? Those are stock apps, can't blame 3rd parties.

Always had a theory that Android users have grown more fanatic than iOS users. Kinda ironic that the ones who hailed Sammy for the sheep ads are themselves blinded by their own choice. In real life, just last week I was criticized for using a Mac/iPhone/Watch three times. Never hear that from Apple users (in real life).

I think that should read "some Android users" and there are certainly "some Apple users" who could be said the same of. I have a Samsung phone and other Android devices and have been an Android user from very early on but would not call myself a fanatic. Both ecosystems have their good and bad points worth defending and criticizing.

A lot of Android users are total crazy fanatics. I don't see any Apple people behaving like them.

What I did yesterday was use the TubeMate app on my LG phones to download every iPhone intro and ads. Also every ColdFusion video that is interesting enough for me.

I prefer educational videos. I had some issues playing them with the TV app but it's ok now. So all I do is loop every iPhone intros or anything related to iPhone or Apple.

I had to use two LG Androids to have this fun on an iPhone but it is fun to watch iPhone-related videos on an iPhone. You may end up sticking to them after being mesmerized by their product presentations.

An iPod. A phone. And an Internet communicator. Are you getting it? This is not three separate devices. This is one device.

Oh most def. Don't wanna generalize. But after seeing countless "switching to android" posts (most here) and having a majority of users saying "hey man, it ain't for you do you" it kinda cements that Apple users are more rational and perhaps have experience with both. The other camp seems to have more of the - never used Apple products so I'm-a hate on what I don't know - mentality.
