In version 1.1, I could sync some movies (for the kids) and some photo's for the screen-saver. Everything else in our iTunes library, including the rest of our iPhoto collection, could be streamed.

This doesn't seem to be working with V2.

I can sync some movies and stream the rest of the library, but the only photo's I can access are the ones I specifically sync - the rest aren't streamed at all.

By the way just for any newbies, like myself, who are attempting to setup streaming based on this thread. All the step by step instructions on this thread work.... after you adjust your firewall to allow itunes and apple tv to connect.

Once you have it setup you can stream pretty much everything! you can even use it as remote speakers in itunes!

I noticed last night that I'm not streaming photos. I can't seem to figure that one out but if I sync the folders they show up. How do you stream photos? I can't find an option for it.
I'm still having the same problem. I'm streaming music fine with no issues. But I want to stream my photos and the only way I can get them is by snycing and downloading them to the ATV. Can someone please give me a step by step lesson on streaming photos? My settings are exactly the same in Music as they are in Photos but the ATV says there is nothing available for streaming photos.

Thanks

That seems to be the way V2 works now. It'll only sync photos. If you choose sync all photos, it should sync them (so long as you have space on the :apple:TV). If you choose sync select albums, but don't choose any albums (like in Music), it won't make any albums available.

V1.1 allowed you to either sync/stream all photos, or just a select bunch of albums (useful if you didn't want some albums to sync/stream). Either way, once you chose to sync, it would fit as many as possible onto the :apple:TV, then stream the rest. You could fill :apple:TV with movies (useful for kids) and a small selection of photos (useful for the screen-savers) then stream everything else.

Now it seems you must leave enough space on the :apple:TV, to sync the photo's you want to see. Hopefully this will be fixed. I preferred the way V1.1 dealt with photo's.

Hi Everybody, 1st post.

so I would love to buy the 40 instead of 160 but tell me if you think it will work ok with my set up.

I have my itunes on my 12"powerbook G4 1.5 ghz (obviously not 802.11n) but my itunes library sits on an external hard drive that is connected to Airport extreme (802.11n)
So, I have a relatively slow (802.11g) connection from G4 to hard drive but a faster connection (802.11n) between hard drive and ATV.

And I should mention that I would be putting the ATV a pretty good distance away from the router, maybe 30'

Thanks.
