Seems like they are all pretty much within a fairly small 70-75 range. Ultimately I guess what ends up mattering is what the service is like for the individuals, which can at times be great with essentially any of them, and at other times not so much at all, again pretty much with any of them.

I love that Tmobile is trying to upset the other carriers with their crazy ideas. They've also done a fairly good job at pushing out software updates. I've been getting the monthly security patches pretty regularly on my S7E.

Hopefully this trend keeps pushing forward. I hate carrier interference to software updates, but Tmobile is the least evil with it, and also has the least amount of carrier bloatware.

Go Tmobile.

Man, all the great stuff Tmobile does but their coverage still stinks. I know for some of you it's good depending on the area you are in, but I've never had much luck with them. I really hope they take all that money they are making from new subs and continue to aggressively expand their footprint.

Fortunately, that's exactly what they're doing!

Yep. Lots of money being spent on Band 12 coverage (700mhz spectrum) and this year T-Mobile is getting a large chunk of that 600mhz spectrum. The 600, combined with the 700mhz, should cover the entire nation once all the old 2g towers are refarmed.

T-Mobile is growing exponentially every quarter it seems.

Will unlocked phones be able to tap into those spectrums? Or is the 600/700 spectrum going to be exclusive to Tmobile branded phones? Cause that'd be a shame. :(

Band 12 is Band 12. Doesn't matter where you bought a phone, if it supports the LTE Band, then you are good to go.
That said, only a few phones currently support T-Mobiles Band 12. And we have no idea what Band the 600mhz freq will be. And of course, only the newest phones after the announcement of 600mhz will have that band.

Band 12 phones must support volte or T-Mobile asks the OEM to disable it. Has happened to some Motorola phones (Moto e?) that shipped with band 12 then revoked it, believe the one touch idol 3 too. Has to do with 911 emergency calls and potential big fines for T-Mobile. Band 12 is LTE data only unless volte is supported by the device

You can still use a band 12 device without volte, it will likely be an imported device. Calls will not work if you are actively on band 12 though and there is no other available signals. T-Mobile does not have low frequency hspa so there are scenarios where you will have data and no voice.

Tried T-Mobile for a bit in my area last month and we have some band 12 around, but lack it in some critical areas for me (which is strange, I figured if it was here it would be everywhere here). Would get dropped calls with the phone trying to cling to band 4 LTE / aws hspa

I really like what T-Mobile is doing though, and I hope they can get more than 5mhz of band12 or more low frequency band whatever. It gets congested fast. We have ridiculously fast 20mhz band 4 LTE here and it is wonderful when you are in range. Back on att gophone for now. Learned a lot of stuff about cell frequencies while trying out T-Mobile so there's that ! :p

I have ringplus on my tablet now, but if my needs grow I say T-Mobile is a no brainier for less critical things like tablets, especially with binge on

I was with ATT from when they were Cingular Wireless back in the day. Switched to TMobile about a month ago due to Jump on Demand and their amazing deals.

ATT kills them in coverage area and service so far in my small experience. I can't even get service in my office as it goes to the edge network. Luckily I have wifi of course at work but too many black holes of coverage at this point with TMobile but I won't be switching as I don't call anyone anyways and the Jump on Demand is the best in the business.

But they say they are drastically improving reception every year, and the reception never seems to improve. I end up trialing them every couple of year and see virtually no change in the trouble spots I encounter, and I'm in one of the most dense metropolitan regions of the planet. It's been a while since I trialed them so maybe they have improved and it's time to check them out again. ATT has pulled some stuff lately that has me considering another carrier. First carrier to offer a BOGO deal on the Note 7 gets my business.

Give them another try, perhaps band 12 is available in your area? I'm sure T-Mobile will have great offers on the Note 7.

For me, I've seen great reception improvement over the last several years with T-mobile in the NYC and outer regions.

It's all about band 12 (which started in 2015?), if you have band 12 in your area and it isn't bogged down with more users than it can handle , your experience should be way better for coverage.

Every tower doesn't seem to have band 12, even if band 12 is in your area (T-Mobile cannot roll it out everywhere yet either), so it's real location dependent.

ATT is hurting in part due to Tmobile's Uncarrier movement: http://www.phonearena.com/news/AT-T...all-loading-cannons-to-fight-T-Mobile_id81793

AT&T to offer 'strong' iPhone 7 promotions in the fall, 'loading cannons' to fight T-Mobile

Once again, consumers win when there is competition! It's true of smartphones, and it's true of carriers.

This could fall flat if the rumors about the iPhone 7 being a slightly modded iPhone 6 are true. Won't look too sexy compared to a Note Edge.

Also, AT&T is delusional if they think anyone cares about DirecTV.

Man, I'll have to give them another shot. Like I said, whoever has the best deal on the Note 7 will get my business. I'm hoping for a BOGO offer, maybe even a free GearVR and discount off the Gear S2 (or maybe S3 by then). But I'm also still leaning heavily towards Verizon. As bad as Tmobile is, I can't say I haven't had some issues with AT&T. Verizon seems more rock solid in terms of reception.

Yeah but even a modified iphone 6 will still sell like hotcakes. It's not like Apple is losing money, they are just making slightly less of it. I hope Samsung gets the earpiece down this time, I've been on all 5 generations of the Note series and the earpiece is always less than perfect, one of the reasons I keep going back to the iphone, then back, sigh.

If you haven't tried T-Mobile in the last 12-18 months, then you won't know there has been drastic improvements all over the country. I'm sure you must run into someone you know that has T-Mobile and a phone with Band 12 (iPhone 6s, S6, S7, LG G5, Nexus 6p or 5x) to ask how their reception is in your area?

The next "Un-Carrier" movement from Tmobile: http://www.phonearena.com/news/T-Mo...tomers-with-stock-and-weekly-freebies_id81877

Free stuff!

T-Mobile doubles its size; rewards customers with stock and weekly freebies
Yep. I'm in on the stock freebies.

And not sure if anyone noticed this bit, but all T-Mobile customers now get a free hour of in-flight wifi with GoGo, which of course goes with the free texting that was already available. Makes those cross country flights awesome again, even if GoGo wifi is barely able to give you 500kbps speeds.

Gogo is good enough for FaceTime and wifi calling.

My brother has Tmobile and he lives fairly close to me, and works in NYC. He hates it, but has learned to rely on wifi calling and likes the perks. He has trouble even in NYC, which I would think would be a strong point for Tmobile, but it isn't for him.

My biggest issue, besides overall spotty or non-existent reception, was indoor coverage. With Band 12 I'm excited if that actually gives me indoor reception.

Still, it makes me wonder how Tmobile will stay alive. It seems like they are burning the candle on both ends. Trying to build out a network, and also offering all these freebies and perks must be expensive. But power is in numbers, and Tmobile is smart to make such a strong push to continue to increase their numbers. I'd be curious as to their churn rate versus other carriers, and how much of those new customers end up leaving once they experience the reception issues.

Apparently they've doubled their number of subscribers. Something like 33 million is now 66 million subscribers.
