Did the event get cancelled? I've been looking around but see very little reporting on it.I don't think that event is going to happen.
And quit saying maxi-pod... just sounds bad.
MaxiPod sounds bad? I think it's apt.

Previous reports had pointed to a possible Final Cut Studio update at a rumored March 24th media event that had initially surfaced as a possibility for hardware releases. With the introduction of new iMacs, Mac minis and Mac Pros on March 3rd and yesterday's announcement of an iPhone OS 3.0 media event on March 17th, a March 24th event is looking increasingly unlikely.
from the front page
and it reads like maxi-pod (pad) not max-ipod
The most recent rumor about that date says it'll be about Final Cut.BUT--what about that Mar. 24th meeting???
DVDs for the mini-tablet, iPod touch, and iPhone? How did we go from iPhone OS devices to Macs? That was the first thing I thought of--Apple switching all software to online downloads and offering DVDs for extra cash. makes sense.
Are you trying to bring me down? Or do you have a grudge against me?Get out.
…
Yeeaahhh, I sorely have to bend to your view of this MaxiPod.
Dammit. >.<!

See? It's hard of me to let go of the idea of the tablet running like an Air, but I would expect Apple to switch regular software over to a download service as well. Basically I see the mini-tablet as quite a bit closer to the iPod touch than the Mac, and since existing iPhone OS apps are done by download, I would expect iPhone OS versions of iLife/iWork to be by download too (unless they're like 1 GB or something).See? ...I think it'll be a while before current boxed Mac software will go download. I would assume Apple would offer both options before going download only, if that's what their ultimate goal is.
