I posted this thread just before I noticed this one..

I second the request for the poster grid movie browsing..

I would like to see enhanced browsing of your own movie under "My Movies"
Either by genre or like the iTunes rental section. Let us choose under settings how we want to view our movies.

If it was broken down each row by genre (action & adventure, comedy, HD, NEW and so on) and we could browse through them just like in the rental store? I think this be very handy for us with very large collections of movies.

Also maybe bumping the My Movies, My Music, My TV Shows to the top selection instead of the bottom. It's kinda making it harder now for us to look at our own content...

This is my one request for now, anyone else have something they feel was left out?

Since we're complaining...
I never had to sync before. I just loaded my library (which took less than a minute) and l could then browse my content all I wanted. Photos were streamed from a directory and I could tell my family to simply drag and drop photos into that directory for them to appear on the apple tv. Now it seems that I can't have it both ways.

If I stream, I have to wait for each section to load EVERY time I access it (movies, music, etc) but I have the simplicity of updating a single directory for photos (which my family can handle). Alternatively, I can just sync my photos which cuts down on the wait time to access my other media (though there is still an annoying second of a blank icon before the album cover is loaded) but I have to deal with periodically syncing my photo folder (or does it do this for me?). Neither method seems as elegant as simply streaming everything and loading your library ONCE.

A wifi capable remote would be sick ... maybe with a LCD screen ... or hell allow the iphone to be used as a remote.

You can do this with the new Airtunes feature on AppleTv.

Download "signal" for your iphone or touch and remote away...

It doesn't change the way we view movies that we own. Very disappointing, the list is just to hard to go through 1400 movies. Where's coverflow?

agreed... You can search in every other section except for your own personal library. That's just stupid.

"Ah screw it! I'll just pay $3.99 and rent it."

pretty shady if you ask me.

+1. I'm sure there's some reason for doing it this way but I doubt it's a good one.

I'd definitely like to see a more functional remote from Apple, even if I have to pay a bit and it;s not included with :apple:TV.

Me too. Has anyone played with the Vudu remote? It looks pretty slick and nicely ergonomic. The Apple TV remote is fine for Macs, since its slim profile keeps it out of the way. But it sucks for the Apple TV. I'm thinking of getting a Harmony, but they are pricey.

Feedback I left for Apple TV

I would like to be able to use the alphanumeric keypad on my Logitech Harmony 550 remote to search through music and movies and enter other data instead of using the extremely up/down, left/right process or scolling title by title.

I think this is pretty reasonable, no? or allow 3rd parties to use wireless keyboards

No looping or playlist

I hate apple. Now I really hate apple. I think I will destroy every iPod, macbook, apple TV, Mac Pro that my businesses own and permanently ban any kind of apple product from our business. It is so f**** anoying that apple was totally aware that there was a huge demand for looping-functionality, repeat-functionality or playlist-functionality for movies or other content than music and that they gave a total **** about this demand. Especially given the fact that it is so easy to include this functionality. It's just a matter of some simple lines of code. This arrogance towards loyal customers really, really pisses me off.

I am extremely happy with the upgrade. I had never seen or listened to podcasts before so the wife and I spent a few hours browsing through some great stuff.

I do have a few complaints. I really wish the SD movies were done to cover the full screen of my TV

Next, I had a few files that just WOULD NOT LOAD, i'd wait 20 minutes, it wouldn't let me back out either. I eventually had to do the big "no-no" and unplug the ATV...I had to do this 3x's.

I have about 1400 TV shows as well. This will be a long process, but I don't know many people with complete seasons.

I actually went the other way first. I started with TV shows and am now barely moving onto movies. I am a completist though so I dont like having partials in my iTunes. Either partial seasons or partial albums. I need the whole thing. Stupid OCD I guess. So I have over 3000 TV episodes and have spent way too much time tagging and numbering and stuff. Movies are so much easier.
