The only thing I don't like that Valve is doing now is this whole "Episodic" releases of games.

They're not any more. Since HL2 Episode 2 they've only made full games (L4D, L4D2, Portal 2, Team Fortress 2's huge content updates). It was a new thing back in 2005-7 but episodic gaming has been left to Telltale, and only Telltale.

TF2 Download Size?

I am quite interested in TF2 but I've got capped internet (New Zealand).
My internet is fast but i've got 40gb max.
Does anyone know how large the download is?
I don't mind about the install size but just how much internet will it take up?
Cheers

It is roughly 10GB, maybe a bit under but not by very much!

By the way, I think that this is a common Mac problem with TF2:

When the game is starting up, it takes forever. The little color wheel appears...
Then, when you are joining a server, it takes forever again. At getting client info and things like that it freezes for a few minutes. All that this does is cause you to be the last one in the game... just really annoying.

While this is going on, I do not have any other applications running, and my internet is fine.

I don't seem to have any of the problems you've listed. I have an SSD installed and have fast internet so that may be why though.

I dont have those issues either. Though it takes the game a good 30 seconds to and the load times aren't great under OS X compared to Windows. They seem to be a little better in the Lion GM compared to Snow Leopard though.

I was at a friends house last night, 3 of us all on macs playing TF2, however i was playing in Windows7 on my mac. The guy in OSX on the same macbook pro as me had load times at least twice as long, same when starting the game up and looking for servers.

Yeah... I kind of over exaggerated on the load times... but it IS noticeably longer.

It freezes at loadup after the valve icon and again when it says loading with the map of 2Fort.
