Temu liquid glass is spreading

The netflix app just got a liquid glass tab bar; Yaaay! Except it's not a liquid glass tab bar. It's a flutter/ react native ripoff. It joins apps like instagram. The annoying thing with these ripoffs is that they don't adapt to your liquid glass opacity prefences in settings. The only reason they exist is because devs cannot be bothered to write their app in swift.
PS: Pls don't say that the copied ones look better. I know you will.

I'm sure I'm supposed to care about this situation... but I'm fresh outta shiz to give. If a shortcut can be taken, a dev will surely do it - particularly when the app itself isn't the product.

Bro, I love liquid glass! I just don't like the unnoficial liquid glass inspired tab bars in many apps.

Well that's simply not true—and that is in fact, just your opinion.

People may not like the look of some apps, but they will absolutely use them if they must, or if they provide a value to them.

Thank you for writing this. I feel less lonely in this world.
I know that's a first world problem, but it infuriates me.
Below is another example, Uber ($10 Billion Net Profit in 2025), cannot afford to use real liquid glass in his app.

I would lose my job at Apple at day one, because I would give all apps belonging to $100 million+ income companies, exactly 15 days to update to liquid glass, add support for dark mode and add dark icon variants or face delisting.

So true. The worst part is all these massive companies (Airbnb, Uber, Spotify) are so proud of their individual ‘design languages’. Of course you need an identity but at least try and keep some consistency with iOS.
