play the HD 1080p trailer only!
http://www.apple.com/trailers/paramount/wtc/hd/

post your specs as well

i have a 1.83 MBP with 1gig of ram and got a considerable amount of dropped frames while playing the trailer.  :(

you would think that with dual cpu's and a x1600 (which supposedly accelerates decoding of H.264) that it should run smooth as butter....guess i was wrong.

i'm really interested in seeing how the "regular macbook's" handle the WTC HD trailer!

Runs pretty good on my Quad G5 with this slow Geforce 6600 256MB.

Some specs are in sig.

Is there any way to show FPS in Quicktime?

smokeyboi, maybe you need more RAM?

24.40 on my MacBook Pro :) - again, as the above poster said, that's the max.

I don't really wanna know what the max fps you get. what i'm curious about is if you can run the trailer constantly at 24fps without dropping any frames.

on my mbp, frames can drop as low as 12fps on certain scenes.

I get 23-25 consistent, no dropping here.

17" MBP w/2.16GHz, 2GB Ram and 120GB 5400RPM drive.

hmm...maybe my MBP is acting up, but shouldn't I be able to play this trailer smoothly?

I don't know, but Apple's Quicktime recommendations say 2.0 GHz Intel for 1080.

Yeah, on the Core Solo - it's a bit of a no-go. I get about 11 fps average, and it drops out a lot. I am running a bunch of stuff in the background though, so maybe if I quit everything I'd get better performance, but still.

My MacBook Pro averaged 23.98 FPS, but it did drop pretty low a couple times, down to ~12 FPS. The only computer I could see that would be able to sustain a high FPS for the duration of an HD clip would be the Quad G5. I mean, christ, it has four cores at its disposal.

I'm seeing slowdowns as well. 12 fps, sometimes less, at times, but often 24 fps. And I've downloaded the movie and am playing it locally. MBP, 2.0GHz, 2GB RAM (and plenty free).
