Oh that sucks. I have my phone silenced most of the time. Maybe they'll fix that in the next update? (I say hopefully)
I think it might be a iPhone 3.0 limitation. We might have to wait for Apple on this one :\

Now they just need to make the application not fugly.
Quick question about Text free. When you send a text from the app, does it show your number when the person receives it, or is it like Aim where it is an Aim server number!?
Don't really like the application that much, probably because I have unlimited texting, but the push notifications are working great for it.
And whoever said vibration wasn't working for you in the app with silence on, it's working fine for me.

That was me! I'll have to try it again, weird...
Update: Its because I had "Silent Vibrate" OFF in the iPhone settings. Stupid me!
Quick question from whoever has the paid version, does it still say "-sent from Textfree" when you send a text?
I'd like to know this as well. Does anyone have a number I can text so we can test it out? PM me your number.
Just text an email address to test it out.
Another question to those who paid for this app. I really think its worth the $5.99 with Push Notifications. But I already chose a username in the free app...will I be able to use the same name in the paid app?
I think so. When you enter your name after opening the paid version for the first time, the app will fetch your information from their servers.
it's a weird server number.
So to clarify...
Lite version has no push/paid does, but both allow unlimited texts?
Also am I right that it basically sends as an email to avoid the text fee, does that mean whoever Im sending to needs to have email on their phone?
Lite has pushIt does limit you to 15 OUTGOING messages a day though. And messages go right to the recipients sms/mms inbox, not to email. Just like a regular text.
The problem is that, according to my friend, each textfree text that I send him starts a new thread in his Messages app rather than continuing in the same thread. Anyone know a way to fix this? Maybe if he adds the textfree e-mail to his contacts as suggested above? Or if I register my mobile number with textfree? Or maybe there's just no way around it.
