hahaha people are soooooooooooo unintelligent ... everyone and there moms uses the word BRICKED ...Liek omg mi ifone is briked dawg

NO your iphone is not bricked you just dont know what your doing and messed up the process which you then try to blame on apple for your lack of knowledge ..

The only way your iphone is BRICKED is if it wont turn on ,wont restore, will not do anything at all.. THAT is bricked not if you messed up your iphone and you see the itunes logo or any other thing you think is bricking..YOU CANNOT and let me repeat CANNOT brick your iphone it is impossible nowadays to do that..back in the 1x firmware sure ..but now ...NOOOOOO

ok sorry had to get that off my chest.. this is not towards any in general

I fully admit that I don't know squat about the iPhone. I have not connected it to iTunes because I have in fact jailbroken it and have had it unlocked. I never even activated the phone with A T & T I did this because I am out of the country for a long periods and was not willing to pay the charges A T & T wanted for overseas calls and data and txt services.

I have a concern about "bricking" my phone especially since I've been told of this possibility by a former Apple tech who now works for a reseller.

I've reached the point where I'm just not sure whom to believe about this matter.

I would like to buy apps from the itunes store.

If you've already jailbroken it then you should realized that you can still download apps from the app store. :D

Haha, I have NO clue where the whole "Jailbroken phones can't use the app store!" rumor came from! It's been around since the launch of the app store but it's never been true.

Also, as long as you don't try to unplug the phone or do anything stupid while installing the new firmware, you're not going to brick it. (This is regardless of Jailbreaking or not) In fact, if jailbroken you have a better chance of recovering a bricked phone. :D

i guess a 3.1 isnt immposible to brick
