I just this hour returned it and went back to my Blackberry 9700!

I will never let a pretty thing turn my head again!;)

I thank everyone for the help but I need to handle 30-60 emails a day out in the field and . . . . . . well today was one of the worst days in the field I have ever had!

Why? Why here? Why now? Why do you think anyone cares?

I've never had a problem with emails... but BB's are email kings for sure

I just couldn't imagine giving up my my apps and awesome web browser... 9700 is 3G but browsing is slowww still w/ that "running scripts" the whole loading time

Seems like you had a problem getting your E-mails to work

what i did is forward everything to my G-mail account ( let that server deal with all the damn intricacies of SSL) and I just have a single e-mail account on my iPhone

Gmail( via Microsoft active sync m.google.com server)

takes care of my calendar, contacts and e-mail :D

Kings of emails is RIGHT!

Not one of those cute little .99 cent programs would help me get my job done out in the field. SOrry but the iPhone is a toy for entertainment and NOT a serious business tool! The real problem was my fault for not understanding this before I bought one.

Enjoy!

I don't think it is appropriate for someone using AOL mail for their business to claim the iPhone is not a serious business tool.

The way I have my mail setup is that the mail that comes to my domain name is forwarded to gmail. That way I can take advantage of gmail's spam features and their idea that mail should never be deleted. I do delete some messages but keep a lot of them on there as my permanent record. Then I forward those messages to my mobile me account where they are pushed to the iPhone. I get quick notification of new messages (and only the ones that get past gmails spam filter) and a permanent record of the message is a (relatively) safe offsite lcoation.

I've used both extensively and in the beginning of the iPhones life I would agree with this whole heartedly..Now? Not so much.. Like you, it is imperative that my email be available at all times, and capable of handling periods of high volume.. While I really liked my BB I have to say that these days my iPhone does email every bit as good as my BB did.. Believe me, I NEVER thought I would say those words, and people that know me never thought I would either.. I always believed that the BB was the best email device ever created.. I loved it for that.. I don't know if it's the improvements to the mobile me servers, or maybe I improved my settings, who knows? But I can honestly say my iPhone has been every bit as good as my BB was for quite some time now.. I won't say better because, like I said, I believe the BB very well could be the finest email device out there- but there's NO DOUBT my iPhone does just as good of a job as my BB EVER did..

Now, onto your snide, ill informed, dig about the iPhone being a cute little "toy".. That's pretty silly.. I'm sorry that you couldn't figure out ways to use your iPhone for the "serious business" you need to do-lol- but just because you couldn't figure it out doesn't mean it isn't capable.. It's MUCH more capable than a BB in many aspects for conducting business..When I was a dedicated BB user I never had all of my A/R, A/P, customer purchase history, customer payment history, vendor invoices, PO's, payroll, etc etc on my phone.. I had to bring a computer everywhere if I wanted that info with me at all times.. With the iPhone I enter data into quickbooks pro, it automatically syncs, and I have ALL of my company info with me wherever I go..There's other things such as inventory control etc etc that I can do on the iPhone but we don't need to go thru all that- you get my point.. As much as I loved my BB, that just wasn't happening.. It might be like that now but I doubt it.. And if it is capable of that I guarantee it isn't as easy as it is on the iPhone..

Sure, the BB is very good at conducting "serious business"-as you called it- as long as the extent of your "serious business" is email.. For the rest of us, who might not do the kind of "serious business" you do, but still use their phone in a business setting, the iPhone is an overall better choice..

Well, I find my 3GS does wonderfully both for business and for my personal lifestyle. I would not accept anything less for the price of a smart phone.

Another troll post by a bb user that thinks he's a CEO of a company and cannot manage his empire thru an iPhone cause it's a toy for kids:rolleyes:

You hit it on the head and except I do not "think" I am the CEO, I am, but as soon as you move out of your parents house and get your own cell phone account, you will understand!:D

It is a sad state of affairs when the operations of a business lies at the mercy of an executive's telephone.

I understand. Apple braggs about how good the iPhone is in the enterprise, and then... boom... 1 year later they say its not designed for business. I personally don't like blackberries, but everybody has a preference. I'm glad you are happy with your decision. Also, this forum is for Apple products and in this case the iPhone. So you may be flamed by users because you are bashing the "Jesus Phone"... the Perfect phone.

Okay, that was a little bit of sarcasm at the end.
Enjoy the new blackberry.:D

Your company must be in shambles if you have time to go on an iphone message board and troll.

lol, love the shiny toy remark.... sums it up well.

OP, the blackberry is far superior as an actual phone and business tool.

I found out the same way as you.

Leave iPhone to the kids...

I can spend $100 and set up a company and call myself CEO. Its like lawsuits, anyone can sue anyone, it doesn't really mean anything.

However, I know of no CEOs going on bulletin boards making useless posts about his love for blackberrys.

And 30 to 60 emails a day? um... you're a CEO? of what? managing your shopping list?

These pointless posts are such a waste of bandwidth..

I own and use a blackberry and don't own an iphone.

Exactly. Your a CEO of a company using an iphone . Don't you have people who handle this kind of thing for very important emails .

I agree that the blackberry is great for emails. I don't understand someone who doesn't research into this kind of thing and demo it at a store to see if it fits your needs.

What's the name of the company so I know not to invest in it.

hey everyone its ok there are many not smart people in the world. Its not our fault this guy wanted back his blackberry (for stupid and solvable reasons)its just BLASPHEMY!:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

Shame really op, cos i naively thought you were gonna have sommat intelligent to say.. but reading this lil rant/troll/blog fest i got the impression that you are quite a whiner- i.e "my BMW 6 series leather, its the wrong kinda grey. I wanted medieval grey, i got charcoal grey, wah waah wah i want a refund, so i can buy a merc instead."

Its a bit silly really i think, so you werent happy with the way that the iphone handled emails, either that or couldnt use it- one or tuther. So you had to replace it for sommat that could do it "right" even though the iphones way isnt wrong per se- you still seem to assume that what you say is the gospel of smartphones. When it isnt really...

If you are the CEO of a company shouldnt you of thought it though logically and had a look through the google phones, nokia, blackberrys, before you jumped onto iphone bandwagon (and it can indeed be a bandwagon-the iphone is one of those must have items at the mo)

Steve Jobs n co clearly thought through the iphone aspect. hence why theres an accelerometer in the thing. It opens up the whole "user-phone experience" I dont think i have any aspects of the iphone which i dont enjoy, or like. It has games to play in a bored moment. Or apps to help me find my way around town, find a pizza place, or find out a train time whilst im sitting on a connecting train. Its so easy, fair enough you dont like the email. So? Someone else does, me. I wouldnt touch a blackberry with a broomhandle. Its so unintuitive, the way the buttons are configured. And lack of a huge multitouch screen.. Its weird going back to friends nokias n stuff...

A CEO of one person company is not a big dea:D. Generally CEO's who are making real money, don't have time to post their opinions of cell phones on the net. Their day is pretty much scheduled out, and I don' think the Executive Admin will have MacRumors on the calendar.

The OP is a long time poster on crackberry and blackberry forum and isn't well liked either, so he's 3 for 3!
