I was talking about this with a friend a few days ago and could not come up with any examples, maybe someone can hear. Has there been a show or movie that had mass negative reviews for the trailers that have actually turned out to be good? The ones I come across or follow even a little always seem to have the fans right on with what they are were expecting and how bad it would be.
Trailers try to sell the movie. My primary complaint about trailers is that some of them tell you the entire story, significant story events and even the ending. I can’t remember any movie with bad “trailer reviews” that was a good movie. I guess I don’t think in those terms. 🤔🙃

Yes, but when it comes to these big franchise series from Marvel, DC and Star Wars, people rip them apart in great detail. It is interesting how the masses seem to spot out when these big franchise moves will be a hit or miss. Some are easier than others. I certainly can't do it. Latest easy one to spot is the new Snow White movie. Movie looks awful and they have to know already that it is going to be a bit flop for them.

Then on the other side you have a trailer that does not spill all the beans on the story and leaves much to the imagination. One I am looking forward to is:

Looks like there will be lots of take away from the movie. I think it will go one way or the other, really good or really bad.

When the wife and I used to go to the movies, the trailers were must see. I’d lean over to her as say “must see”, “solid maybe”, “very iffy”, and “nope”. ☺️
